Staff wise, they’re helpful without hovering, and most speak excellent English if your German is rusty.

The neighborhood puts you close to Leipzig’s best restaurants (seriously, walk five minutes toward Barfußgässchen and you’ll find some gems), and you’re not dealing with tourist crowds right outside your door. Sure, it’s not the newest place in town, and the elevator is one of those tiny European ones that fits maybe two people and a backpack, but that’s part of its character. The 8.4 rating feels about right – it’s very good at what it does without trying to be something it’s not. If you want a pool and spa, look elsewhere.
