You know what struck me first about Luga Homes – Stadthaus? It’s actually tucked into this quiet stretch of Kurt-Schumacher-Straße where you wouldn’t expect to find much, but honestly, that ends up being one of its best features. I mean, you’re still right in Mitte – like, properly in the heart of Leipzig – but without all the tourist chaos that comes with some of the more obvious hotel strips.

The place has this sort of understated charm that grows on you. It’s not trying to be flashy (definitely more neighborhood gem than Instagram hotspot), but the rooms are genuinely comfortable and surprisingly spacious for what you’d expect in this part of town. The staff actually seems to know Leipzig inside and out, which is refreshing – they pointed me toward this little café around the corner on Käthe-Kollwitz-Straße that I never would’ve found otherwise. Check-in was smooth, no weird bureaucratic nonsense, and they were pretty flexible when I needed to adjust my arrival time because of train delays. The building itself feels solid, you know? Those thick German walls mean you’re not hearing every conversation from the next room, which is honestly a blessing after staying in some of those paper-thin modern places.

What really sold me on this spot was how easy it made exploring the city feel. You can walk to the Markt in about ten minutes – I timed it – and the whole Barfußgäßchen area with all its bars and restaurants is basically right there. But here’s the thing locals know: you’re also super close to the Südvorstadt, which is where a lot of the university crowd hangs out, so there’s this nice mix of touristy stuff and actual Leipzig life happening around you. Parking can be a bit tricky on the street (it’s Germany, what do you expect?), but there are options nearby if you’re driving. The tram connections are solid too – the Goerdelerring stop isn’t far, and from there you can get pretty much anywhere in the city without thinking too hard about it. I’d definitely stay here again, especially since the 8.5 rating feels about right – it’s not perfect, but it delivers on the things that actually matter when you’re trying to get a feel for a city like Leipzig.

  The location is convenient for those that are travelling by bus or train. A short walk from the train station. Apartments were extremely clean. We were under the impression that our booked apartment had a washer and dryer; it didn't – but the Luga Homes Staff arranged to wash and dry our clothes (free of charge).
  
  What could be improved: We probably read the advert wrong but we though the apartmet we were in had a washer and dryer but the Luga Homes staff took care of cleaning and drying our clothes.

  We chose this apartment because of it's close proximity to the Main Station. The station has the most amazing shopping facilities on the lower floor, including excellent food outlets which are also open on Sundays.
  The property is situated just a short walk to the largely pedestrianised Leipzig town centre. We were even able to walk to a concert at the opera house.
  The apartment is extremely well appointed with comfortable beds and top-end bathroom facilities. The staff manning the office upon checkout were friendly and informative.

  The information provided by Luga Homes was very good, they consider everything and responded fast when I had a question. The apartment had large rooms and included everything you needed.
