When I first pulled up to Loft Apartments on Südstraße, I’ll be honest — it doesn’t scream “hotel” from the outside. This three-star property sits quietly in Böhlitz-Ehrenberg, which is actually a charming suburb about 15 minutes west of Leipzig’s city center. The building has that converted industrial feel that’s become so popular, and you know what? It works. There’s something refreshingly unpretentious about the whole setup that immediately put me at ease.

Here’s where Loft Apartments really shines — these aren’t your typical cramped hotel rooms. I mean, they’re actual apartments with proper living spaces, which makes such a difference when you’re staying more than a night or two. The loft-style design gives you high ceilings and an open feel that’s hard to find in traditional hotels around Leipzig. My unit had a separate bedroom, a decent-sized living area, and a kitchenette that was actually functional (not just for show). The industrial touches — exposed beams, concrete elements — give it character without feeling cold or unwelcoming.

Location and Getting Around

Böhlitz-Ehrenberg might sound remote, but it’s actually pretty well connected to Leipzig proper. The S-Bahn gets you into the city center quickly, and honestly, I enjoyed having a quieter base to return to after exploring Leipzig’s bustling Innenstadt. What really sold me on the location, though, was how peaceful it felt — you’re away from the tourist crowds but still close enough to everything that matters. Plus, couples seem to particularly love this spot, and I can see why. There’s something romantic about having your own little apartment retreat.

Practical Perks

Let’s talk about something that actually matters when you’re traveling — parking. Loft Apartments offers free private parking right on site, which is honestly a godsend if you’re driving around Germany. I’ve stayed at places in Leipzig where parking was either impossible to find or cost a fortune, so this was a pleasant surprise. The apartments also come with decent Wi-Fi and all the basics you’d expect, though don’t expect upscale amenities here. It’s more about comfort and practicality, which sometimes is exactly what you need.

After spending several nights here, I get why this place has such solid ratings. It’s not trying to be something it’s not — just a comfortable, well-designed space that gives you room to breathe. The apartment setup means you can actually live a bit while you’re traveling, whether that’s making coffee in the morning or spreading out your stuff without feeling cramped. For couples especially, having a proper living space instead of just a hotel room makes the whole experience feel more intimate and relaxed. The location strikes that perfect balance between accessibility and tranquility that’s surprisingly hard to find around Leipzig.

  Sehr saubere Unterkunft. Ausstattung ist auch toll, klein aber fein. Wir als kleine Familie waren sehr zufrieden. Lebensmittelgeschäft Minuten entfernt. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis hat auch gepasst. Würden wieder buchen.

  We stayed in the studio apartment. The apartment itself was a nice space.
  
  What could be improved: The location is really nowhere near the city center. It was a long walk from the s-bahn station. It was hard to find. It was in an industrial area. No coffee shops or restaurants nearby. We arrived at the apartment and there were no keys in the lockbox. We called the owner and he had to send a locksmith to rekey the door since the keys were lost. We have travelled all over Europe and this has NEVER happened before. It was a stress for us because we didnt know initially if we had to find other accommodations if we couldnt get inside. We lost over 1.5 hours of our time before we could get in. We had to sit outside – thank goodness it wasnt raining. We also had the toilet back up and there was no plunger for us to fix it. Also, a sink in the bathroom got plugged and we could not use it. During every shower the 2 doors dont close tightly so water gets everywhere – we had to use all of our towels to soak up the water on the floor. The mirror in the bathroom is too high so my wife who is 5 feet 7 inches was just tall enough to be able to use it. Anyone shorter would not be able to use it.

  Location was great, supermarket and train stations within easy walking. Great little gated community and felt very safe walking around with neighbours extremely friendly. Would not hesitate to book again.

  Spacious apartment perfect for our group of three adults and four children.Well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds.We particularly enjoys the garden with lots of toys for the kids and the play corner with toys and books. It was very practical to have a supermarket just around the corner. Check in instructions were clear and it went smoothly.

  the room was clean and confortable, parking available at the location, a supermarket was very close.
  
  What could be improved: it was a bit hard to find the apartment as there is no indication at the door to identify it, i believe this is due to currently renovation works on the site. we did find the building, then we just got lucky that someone there told us which is the apartment we looked for and there was no further need to contact the host.
