Book Hotel Leipzig Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Book Hotel Leipzig on Auguste-Schmidt-Strasse, you immediately get the sense this place knows what it’s doing. The building has that clean, modern look without trying too hard to impress — which honestly feels refreshing after seeing so many hotels that go overboard with their facades. It’s a three-star property, but the entrance gives off vibes that suggest they’re punching above their weight class.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what I love about the Mitte district — you’re actually in the heart of Leipzig without feeling like you’re stuck in a tourist trap. The hotel sits right where you want to be, close enough to walk to the main sights but on a street that doesn’t have tour buses rumbling past your window at 7 AM. Couples seem to really get this location (they’ve rated it 9.6, which is pretty impressive), and I can see why. You can stroll to the old town square in about ten minutes, maybe fifteen if you stop to grab coffee along the way. There’s also parking available if you’re driving, which — trust me — is not something you should take for granted in this part of the city.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d hope for after a long day of exploring. Nothing fancy, but everything worked perfectly, and the bed was genuinely comfortable — apparently other guests agree because the hotel gets consistently high marks for sleep quality. The design feels contemporary without being cold, you know? There’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped, and the bathroom actually has decent water pressure (something I’ve learned not to assume in European hotels).
Morning Fuel
Breakfast here is a buffet setup, and while I’m usually skeptical of hotel breakfast buffets, this one actually delivers. They’ve got the German basics covered — good bread, proper coffee, local cheeses — but also enough variety that you won’t get bored if you’re staying multiple nights. The restaurant area has big windows that let in plenty of natural light, which makes starting your day feel less institutional and more… well, pleasant.
Why Guests Love It
What really strikes me about Book Hotel Leipzig is how it manages to nail the fundamentals without any unnecessary fuss. Recent guests have given the location a 9.5 rating, and after spending time here, I totally understand why. It’s one of those places where everything just works — the staff knows the neighborhood, the rooms are genuinely restful, and you’re positioned perfectly to explore Leipzig on foot. For a three-star hotel, it delivers an experience that feels more polished than its official rating suggests, which is exactly what you want when you’re traveling.
To book hotel in Leipzig during the famous Leipzig Book Fair season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts literary enthusiasts and music lovers from around the world.

What could be improved: A few usb charging points would be handy but the staff dug us out – no complaints really – thank you !Excellent hotel and staff. Great value. – Stephen from United Kingdom – 12 June 2025 (9/10)
Hotel was spotless. Room was very good and bed very comfortable. Staff were excellent. Very close to the city centre. Breakfast was nice, the food was excellent quality. Pastries that were fresh. Staff attentive.
What could be improved: Breakfast was just a little too expensive. Shutters on windows did not keep out all the light in the early morning. Would have preferred curtains. However it was dark enough during the night.Full of character and charm. – Ilma from South Africa – 6 June 2025 (10/10)
The Hotel is really wonderfully located close to lots of attractions. I loved the book theme and the thought put into the ideas surrounding the theme. The staff were attentive and assisted whenever necessary. The room we had was spacious and had all the necessities. Thanks for the small sweetie gifts and complimentary bottle of water in the room.
Very nice hotel with personal touch at a perfect location – Peter from Belgium – 3 June 2025 (9/10)
Nice hotel with modern clean and spacious rooms and a very good bath room. The 'book' theme adds a nice personal touch. People are very friendly. The breakfast is really good. It is located very close to the center of the town, but yet in a quiet environment.
What could be improved: to be honest, not one bad remark
