I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to LeHaStays Apartments on Gorkistraße, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. The Schönefeld-Abtnaundorf neighborhood isn’t exactly tourist central, but you know what? That turned out to be exactly why I loved this place. It’s proper Leipzig living, not some sanitized hotel bubble where you never actually experience the city.

The apartments themselves are surprisingly spacious – I mean, actually spacious, not “European spacious” where you’re bumping elbows with your travel partner. Mine had this really nice kitchen setup that made me wish I’d planned to cook more (there’s a decent Rewe just down the street if you’re into that). The design walks this nice line between modern and cozy – clean lines but not sterile, you know? And honestly, the beds are fantastic. I’m talking sleep-through-construction-noise-outside fantastic, which is saying something because Leipzig’s always got some building project happening somewhere. The wifi actually works properly too, which I’ve learned not to take for granted in apartment-style places.

What really sold me on the location was how connected it feels once you figure out the tram system. The 4 and 7 lines will get you into the city center in about fifteen minutes, and there’s this lovely stretch along the way where you get glimpses of Leipzig’s mix of restored buildings and new development. It’s not touristy out here – you’ll hear more German than English on the streets, see locals walking their dogs in the evening, catch the smell of someone’s dinner drifting from apartment windows. The area gets properly quiet at night, which was perfect after long days exploring the city center and dealing with all the usual tourist chaos around Markt and Augustusplatz. Parking was straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven in German cities will appreciate – no circling blocks looking for a spot or deciphering complicated parking signs. The check-in process was refreshingly simple, none of that awkward “where do I go, who do I talk to” confusion you sometimes get with apartment rentals. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I were planning a longer visit where having a proper kitchen and some breathing room would matter. It’s the kind of place where you can actually settle in for a few days instead of just crashing between sightseeing sessions.

  What could be improved: Im Großen und Ganzen war es in Ordnung.
  Es war ziemlich sparsam eingerichtet. Abgezähltes Geschirr und Besteck. Zur Müllentsorgung/ – trennung stand nichts etwas beschrieben.
  Durch diesen komischen Duschvorhang stand das Bad oft „unter Wasser“. Für die 5 nassen Dusch- Handtücher fehlte genügend Trockenmöglichkeiten.

  Die Wohnung war groß und geräumig. Die Couch war auch bequem. Wenig positiv außer, dass der Gastgeber schnell erreichbar war und auch einen Teil der Kosten erstattet hat.
  
  What could be improved: Leider war der Aufenthalt nicht empfehlenswert. Die Heizung hat nicht funktioniert, es war sehr kalt. Wohnungsboden, Geschirr war dreckig, Glübirne in der Lampe hat gefehlt, Geschirrspüler hat nicht richtig gewaschen, Zimmer war im 5. Stock mit Sperrmüll im Flur. Matratze war dünn und unbequem.
