The main train station is close enough that you won’t be dragging your luggage for miles, but you’re far enough from the chaos to actually enjoy some peace. What’s really nice is how you can walk to the old market square in about ten minutes, and all those cozy cafés and local shops are right there waiting for you.

The Room Experience

Now, about those beds — they’re not kidding when they say this place is highly-rated for comfort. I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels where you wake up feeling like you wrestled with the mattress all night, but that’s definitely not the case here. The rooms have that clean, modern Marriott aesthetic you’d expect, but they’ve managed to make it feel less corporate and more… well, actually comfortable. The windows are decent-sized too, so you get some nice natural light during the day, which always makes a room feel more spacious than it probably is.

It’s not going to blow your mind with local specialties, but honestly, sometimes you just want reliable coffee and eggs that taste like what you’re used to. There’s parking available at the hotel, which is actually a bigger deal than it sounds — finding parking in Leipzig’s city center can be a real headache, so having that sorted removes one travel stress completely.

  What could be improved: We didnt realise the room had room service because information about the room (and room service) was hidden on a small pyramid 'thing' hidden away at the back of the desk in the room, that we didnt spot until last day, when we checked with reception. Apparently you had to use the PDF code on the pyramid to access room details. We’re very IT literate but think this is poor customer service that assumes customers have a cell phone with them.

  The breakfast is excellent. Time for the breakfast is excellent too. I love the breakfast and the service is perfect.
  The room is very clean. They will clean the room no matter what time you leave the room.
  The location is excellent for touring around the town centre.
  On one morning, the water was shut down because there was an issue in the lobby. I missed my breakfast because I couldn't take a shower to go out. About 11:15am the water was back on. I met the General Manager in the lobby and talked about me missing the breakfast. He immediately offered me a free lunch at the Sport Bar. I was so impressed and satisfied with their service and generosity.

  Leipzig is amazing! I now understand why it's referred to as "the Little Berlin." There's loads of history to explore, several great museums, and the historic town center is so very walkable! The transit system definitely rivals Berlin and is so easy to use … especially if you use the Fairtiq app. And by all means, don't miss the Bayerischer Bahnhof brewery/restaurant on the southern edge of a town!
