I’m so glad I did. This little apartment gem sits right on Hainburger Weg in Leipzig’s Nordost district, and it’s one of those places that immediately makes you feel like you’ve stumbled onto something the guidebooks haven’t ruined yet.

The location is actually perfect if you want that sweet spot between city access and residential calm – you know what I mean? You’re far enough from the touristy center that you won’t hear drunk backpackers singing at 2 AM, but close enough that getting into Leipzig proper doesn’t require a whole expedition. The tram connections are surprisingly good (locals will tell you the same), and there’s this authentic neighborhood feel where you’ll see the same dog walkers every morning and maybe even exchange awkward German pleasantries at the bakery around the corner. The apartment itself feels more like staying at a thoughtful friend’s place than some sterile hotel room. Everything’s clean without being obsessively so, and whoever set this place up actually thought about what travelers need – I mean, there are enough power outlets, the WiFi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and the kitchen has real cooking equipment, not just a sad hot plate. The windows face away from the main street, so it stays quiet even during the day when delivery trucks are doing their thing.

What really sold me, though, was how the owners handle the whole experience. Check-in was smooth without being overly formal, and they clearly know their neighborhood well enough to give you the kind of local tips that actually matter – like which grocery store has the best selection (and stays open latest), or where to catch the bus that locals use instead of the tourist route. Honestly, by day three I felt more like a temporary resident than a visitor passing through. The area gets this lovely golden light in the evenings, especially in late spring and summer, and you’ll find yourself taking longer walks than planned just because the streets have character without trying too hard. Sure, it’s not right in the historic center, but that’s actually part of its charm – you get a real sense of how Leipzig breathes as a living city, not just a collection of sights to check off.

  Es war einfach wie ein zweites Zuhause.
  Wir haben uns wirklich pudelwohl gefühlt.
  Es war sehr sauber und es wurde an so viele, vermeintliche Kleinigkeiten, gedacht. Tee, Kaffee, Duschgel, alle möglichen Utensilien zum Kochen sind hier auch verfügbar. Selbst Spielsachen sind hier vorhanden.
  Der Empfang war auch wirklich süß arrangiert.

  Die Wohnung war groß, sehr sauber und außergewöhnlich gut ausgestattet. Wir kommen gern wieder, haben uns wie zu Hause gefühlt.

  Es war großzügig vom Platz her, gut eingerichtet und einfach alles vorhanden, was wir gebraucht haben, inklusive Reinigungsmittel und Waschtrockner mit Waschmitteln. Sehr ruhige Lage.

  Die Ferienwohnung ist für eine Familie mit zwei Kindern nahezu perfekt. Selbst meinem 7 jährigen Sohn ist aufgefallen wie sauber es war. Kaffee, Duschgel, Waschmittel usw war bereits alles da. Eine sehr gastfreundliche Familie! Wir haben uns alle sehr wohl gefühlt und würden gern wieder kommen.

  We as a family of three spent two relaxing nights in this excellent apartment. Everything was as described on Booking.com. Very friendly and communicative host with clear instructions and continuous availability in case of questions. Exceptionally clean, spacious and well-equipped accommodation – especially the kitchen and bathroom with all commodities you might need during your stay. Dedicated parking lot in front of the property. While the house is located in the (very quiet) suburb of Leipzig, you can reach the downtown quickly either by public transport (approx. 1 hour) or by car (approx. 20-30 min). We would return here any time – highly and warmly recommended.
