You know what struck me first about Hotel Hiemann? It’s actually in this quiet residential stretch on Delitzscher Landstraße that feels properly Leipzig – not touristy at all, just real neighborhood vibes. I mean, you’re technically in the Nord district, but it’s one of those spots where you get a genuine sense of how locals live. The building itself has that understated German efficiency thing going on, and honestly, the 8.6 rating makes complete sense once you’re inside. It’s a solid 3-star that doesn’t try to be something it’s not, which I really appreciated.

The rooms are what I’d call thoughtfully simple – clean lines, decent space, and everything actually works (you’d be surprised how rare that combo can be). What really won me over was the attention to small details that matter when you’re tired from traveling. The beds are properly comfortable, not just hotel-acceptable, and there’s enough storage space that you can actually unpack if you’re staying more than a night. The bathrooms are compact but well-designed, with good water pressure – honestly, after a day walking around Leipzig’s cobblestone Altstadt, that hot shower hits different. Parking was straightforward too, which saved me the headache of circling blocks looking for a spot.

Location-wise, you’re about a 15-minute tram ride from the city center, but that’s actually perfect if you ask me. Close enough that getting to Augustusplatz or the Gewandhaus doesn’t require planning your whole day around transport, but far enough out that you escape the weekend noise and tourist crowds. There’s a decent bakery just down the street – I grabbed coffee there most mornings and watched the neighborhood wake up. The staff seemed genuinely helpful rather than just polite, and check-in was refreshingly efficient. Look, Hotel Hiemann isn’t going to blow your mind with fancy amenities, but it nails the fundamentals in a way that makes you want to recommend it to friends who value substance over flash. If you’re the type who’d rather spend money on exploring Leipzig than on hotel frills you won’t use, this place gets it.

  We stayed one night on our way to Austria. The hotel is conveniently located close to the motorway and far enough not to be auditable. The staff was so friendly- they knew exactly who we were when we arrived and our communication before the stay was perfect. We had a table booked at the restaurant and the food was really good- which also goes for the breakfast. We charged our car easily in the basement and were ready for a long days drive.

  I was in hotel Hiemann with my husband and friends, we came to Euro2024. The stay was great, hotel is not in the city centre but with car it is 10min driving straight and it is really easy to go to city center. The stuff is kind, the lady in the reception was great! Rooms are big and absolutely enough for two nights stay.
  
  What could be improved: There is not air conditioner, only the cooling fan. And the smell in the room can be a little bit fresher.

  The room was spacious for family of 4 with older kids. The breakfast was rich, offered lactose free and gluten free items on request. Scrambled or fried eggs where also done upon request which made them super fresh. Hotel was rather small, in a quiet location with free parking. The distance from the city centre was about 30 minutes by tram and the stop 5 mins away from the hotel. Hotel has a restaurant but we had no opportunity to taste it. I would definitely recommend.
