Hotel 3 Linden Overview

You know what? Hotel 3 Linden caught me completely off guard. I mean, when you’re walking down Kastanienweg in Alt-West, you’re not exactly expecting to stumble across a gem – it’s one of those quiet residential streets where locals actually live, not where tourists usually end up. But honestly, that’s exactly what makes this place work so well.

The building itself has this understated charm that feels genuinely Leipzig rather than trying too hard to be anything else. When I checked in, the staff actually seemed to remember guests’ names (rare these days), and the whole lobby area smells like fresh coffee rather than that generic hotel air freshener scent. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 3-star – nothing fancy, but everything works properly. I stayed on the third floor and it was surprisingly quiet, even though you’re still close enough to the city center that you can walk to the main sights without your feet falling off. The beds are actually comfortable – I slept through the night without waking up with that weird hotel pillow neck thing. One small thing that bugged me was the shower pressure could be better, but the water gets hot quickly, so there’s that.

Here’s what really sold me on the place though – the location is perfect if you want to experience Leipzig like someone who actually lives here. You’re in Alt-West, which means you can walk to Plagwitz (the cool artsy district) in about fifteen minutes, or catch the tram into the Innenstadt in roughly the same time. There’s a decent bakery literally around the corner where locals grab their morning coffee, and honestly, sitting there with a proper German breakfast roll beats hotel breakfast any day. The neighborhood feels safe walking around at night – I never felt sketchy heading back after dinner. Parking can be a bit tricky if you’re driving (street parking mostly), but if you’re using public transport, you’re golden. The 8.2 rating makes sense – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it does everything right without any major annoyances. I’d definitely stay here again, especially since the prices are reasonable and you’re getting that authentic Leipzig neighborhood vibe instead of being stuck in some tourist bubble downtown.

Reviews of Hotel 3 Linden

  • Nice place, big room! – Sanita from Latvia – 22 June 2025 (9/10)

Very comfortable beds and two different pillows, nice big room!

  • Very good – Mikael from Sweden – 11 January 2025 (8/10)

It is close to the motorway and a very good stop over hotel.
    Nice breakfast…and kind staff.

  • Superb – Barbarakj from Belgium – 10 January 2025 (9/10)

Big, comfy rooms, comfortable beds, friendly staff, not far from the motorway makes it perfect sleep over when travelling

  • Lovely hotel but beware of restaurant staff. – Brennan from Ireland – 3 September 2024 (7/10)

Very pleasant hotel which was very clean and the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking was easy and the area was very quiet.

What could be improved: The staff in the restaurant (which is attached to the hotel) were very rude. I went in two days in a row and both times I was treated like a tax inspector! On the second visit, the waitress actually started shouting at me that I was not at the right table! I had to actually attempt to calm her down as she was clearly overworked and not able to handle somebody who just required a drink! It was a bad experience in an otherwise great hotel, but would prevent me from staying here again.

  • Merită! – 7emil7 from Romania – 19 August 2024 (9/10)

What could be improved: Nothing especially to be mentioned

  • We would definitely come back. – Marzena from Italy – 16 July 2024 (9/10)

Cute hotel with high standards with very accommodating g and caring staff.
Breakfast was good, they even had a basket with gluten free bread ready for us.
The little pond with the big fish was a great entertainment for our 3 year old.

What could be improved: Our room was at the street so it was quite noisy and hot as it was on the top floor.

  • Great out of town stay – Nick from United Kingdom – 3 July 2024 (9/10)

Quiet location near retail park. Clean and functional room. Staff efficient. Dined next door which was busy and only had two waiting staff on shift who coped admirably on a busy Friday night.

  • Superb – Alexandra from Norway – 25 April 2024 (9/10)

Perfect location for visiting Leipzig. Free parking and easy access to either the autobahn or the city center. Clean and comfortable room.

What could be improved: All fine!

  • Recommended for a comfortable stopover on a road trip – Laryssa from United Kingdom – 4 January 2024 (9/10)

Everything was very clean, beds were comfortable and shower was great.

What could be improved: Nothing really; the area is quite industrial but we booked it to be on the road in the morning so that was fine

  • Very good – Lundgren from Sweden – 4 November 2023 (8/10)

Great value for money. Will stay here when passing next year (2024).
