City Apartment Leipzig Overview

You know what struck me first about City Apartment Leipzig? It’s tucked away on this quiet residential street in Mitte, but you’re literally a ten-minute walk from Augustusplatz – I mean, you can practically hear the trams rumbling by, which is oddly comforting once you get used to it. The building itself has that solid East German architecture thing going on, but honestly, they’ve done something really smart with the interior. Walking into the lobby, there’s this mix of modern fixtures against those high ceilings that just works. The woman at check-in actually knew the neighborhood – like, really knew it – and pointed me toward this little bakery around the corner on Pfaffendorfer Straße that I never would’ve found otherwise.

The apartments themselves are surprisingly spacious for a city center location. I stayed in one of their one-bedrooms and the kitchen was actually functional, not just for show (you’d be amazed how rare that is). The floors are this warm wood that doesn’t feel cold under your feet in the morning, and the windows are properly soundproofed – essential when you’re this close to the city center but still want to sleep past 7am. What I really appreciated was the little details: good water pressure in the shower, blackout curtains that actually black out, and – this might sound weird – but the wifi reaches every corner of the place, even the bathroom. The view from my window looked out over these tree-lined streets where locals walk their dogs in the evening, which felt more authentic than staring at another hotel across the way.

Location-wise, you’re in this sweet spot where you can walk to the Gewandhaus or the old town center, but you’re not dealing with the tourist crowds right outside your door. There’s a Rewe supermarket about five minutes away if you want to stock that functional kitchen I mentioned, and honestly, being able to grab fresh bread and coffee in the morning instead of paying hotel breakfast prices was clutch. The Mitte district has this lived-in feeling – you’ll see students from the university mixing with families, and there are enough local bars and restaurants that you won’t feel like you’re in some sanitized tourist bubble. Parking can be a bit tricky if you’re driving (street parking fills up fast), but the public transport connections are solid. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I wanted to feel like I was actually living in Leipzig for a few days rather than just passing through.

Leipzig’s apartments offer spacious accommodations with kitchen facilities, perfect for families wanting to experience daily life in this historically significant German city.

Reviews of City Apartment Leipzig

  • Very good – Sara from New Zealand – 12 July 2025 (8/10)

Close to train station, short walk to town. Lovely clean apartment

  • Superb – Oleksandra from Ukraine – 21 April 2025 (9/10)

Great location, spacious flat with good equipment.

What could be improved: It was a bit tricky to get into the apartment. We couldn't check if the dishwasher was working because we couldn't find capsules for it. Some dishes were dirty or cracked. Also, there wasn't cleaning under the bed, it seems for a while.

  • Exceptional – Boyin from China – 12 April 2025 (10/10)

Great apartment in a great location, close to the tram stop. Also, you can walk to the Leipzig Zoo. The room was larger than I expected, thoughtfully prepared with most of the necessities. The kitchen had a full set of cookware, as well as basic spices and oils, and I made two hearty dinners there.

  • Leipzig 5 stars – David from Germany – 15 November 2024 (10/10)

A beautiful experience. Excellent communication with the owner. He let me check in earlier. The apartment is on the 2nd floor, close to the main train station. Everything was perfect

  • Perfect and comfortable stay. – Raschig from United Kingdom – 18 October 2024 (9/10)

Very comfortable and very central location in a quiet and safe neighbourhood. The kitchen was well equipped. Check in was easy and the place was spotlessly clean. It's a generous size, great for a
    couple or family.

What could be improved: I liked everything.

  • Exceptional – Hamada from Oman – 18 September 2023 (10/10)

    Everything

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • I was sad to leave; could have stayed longer here and spent less time in Berlin. – Mark from New Zealand – 29 June 2023 (10/10)

The apartment was large, generously and tastefully furnished and had real character. It was not too far to walk to the station and all the sights.

What could be improved: As with many properties in Germany there is no lift so it may not suit some people, being on the second floor.

  • Very comfortable. – Carola from France – 2 April 2023 (10/10)

What could be improved: I liked the flat.
It would have been nice to get access to the lock app at the moment of checking out.

  • Exceptional – Dominickee from Spain – 28 February 2023 (10/10)

excellent apartment quiet neighborhood the host is very attentive

  • Exceptional – David from United States – 22 December 2022 (10/10)

Everything as described; great location; good contact with owner. Easy access to Hauptbahnhof and city center.
