gapart – Apartments mit Küche Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to gapart – Apartments mit Küche, you immediately get the sense this isn’t your typical hotel setup. Located on a quiet residential street in Leipzig’s Nordwest district, it feels more like staying at a well-appointed friend’s place than checking into a standard four-star property. The building has that understated German efficiency vibe — clean lines, well-maintained exterior, and honestly, the kind of place where you know everything inside is going to work exactly as it should.
The Apartment Experience
Here’s what I really appreciated: these aren’t just hotel rooms with a mini-fridge thrown in the corner. Each apartment comes with a proper kitchen — I’m talking full-sized appliances, decent cookware, and enough counter space to actually prepare meals. You know how rare that is in most European city accommodations? The living spaces feel genuinely livable too, with separate areas for sleeping and relaxing. It’s particularly perfect if you’re planning a longer stay or just prefer having the option to grab groceries from the local markets rather than eating out every single meal.
Location & Getting Around
The Nordwest area might not be the first district tourists think of, but that’s actually part of its charm. You’re about a 15-minute tram ride from Leipzig’s historic center, which means you get the best of both worlds — easy access to the main sights without the tourist crowds right outside your door. There’s free private parking on-site, which is honestly a game-changer if you’re driving (and anyone who’s tried to park in central Leipzig will know exactly what I mean). The neighborhood has a genuine local feel with cafes and shops that cater to residents rather than visitors.
Service & Practical Details
What struck me most was how responsive the staff is — and I mean genuinely quick to help, not just the usual hotel politeness. When I had a question about the washing machine, I got a detailed response within an hour. The property clearly takes pride in making sure guests feel settled rather than just checked in. Small touches like having proper coffee equipment in the kitchen and reliable WiFi throughout show they understand what people actually need when they’re staying somewhere for more than just a night or two.
Why Guests Love It
This place works especially well for couples — the location rating of 8.7 from pairs makes total sense when you experience it firsthand. There’s something about having your own space with a kitchen that just makes a trip feel more relaxed and authentic. You can start your morning with coffee at your own pace, store leftovers from that amazing restaurant you discovered, and generally live a bit more like a local. It’s the kind of setup where you find yourself already planning your next visit to Leipzig before you’ve even checked out.
To book a hotel in Leipzig during the Bach Festival season, visitors plan ahead to balance museum mornings with dinners in the Auerbachs Keller.

Reviews of gapart – Apartments mit Küche
Exceptional – Brad from United Kingdom – 31 July 2025 (10/10)
The host was super friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Lovely apartment equipped with everything we needed.
What could be improved: There is only a thin, net curtain in the bedroom which does little to stop light. Personally, I would have preferred some form of blackout blind/curtain.Superb – Lembit from Estonia – 19 May 2025 (9/10)
It is a great combo. Excellent location: 2 mins to train that takes you to the heart of the city – Markt – in 15 mins. Stop for tram – 6 mins. We found music in many places in the city and we enjoyed that. When you get back home after the day in the city – you have all amenities you need.
We got sunny days and warm evenings as an extra bonus. 😉 We liked it all and recommmend! 🙂Exceptional – Nicholas from United Kingdom – 1 September 2024 (10/10)

Beautiful and super clean little flat with everything you need even if you would stay for a longer period. Comes with your own parking spot and a love for detail in the flat. Nice area with public transport just around the corner but you can also walk into the city (~3km).
