So I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to the Art Deco Leipzig on Naundörfchen, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The street’s pretty quiet for being in Mitte, which actually turned out to be perfect since you’re close to everything but not dealing with the usual tourist chaos around the Markt.

The whole Art Deco thing isn’t just some marketing gimmick they slapped on – they actually committed to it. I mean, from the moment you step into the lobby, there’s this genuine 1920s vibe with geometric patterns and those rich, warm colors that make you feel like you should be ordering a gin rickey. The staff clearly gets asked about the design constantly because they know their stuff about the building’s history. Check-in was smooth, though I’d recommend getting there before 6 PM if you want to chat with the concierge about restaurant recommendations – they know which places in the Südvorstadt are worth the tram ride.

You know what really sold me on this place? The attention to details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The rooms have these heavy curtains that actually block out the morning light (crucial if you’ve been out sampling Leipzig’s beer scene), and the beds are firm without being punishing. Plus, the bathrooms have proper water pressure – I know that sounds boring, but after a day of walking around the city, trust me, it matters. The location puts you within walking distance of the Bach Museum and St. Thomas Church, but you’re also just a few blocks from some great local spots that most tourists miss. There’s this little café around the corner that does incredible breakfast pastries, and the woman who runs it always remembers your order after the second visit.

Parking can be a bit tricky in this part of Mitte – the hotel doesn’t have its own lot, but there’s street parking and a public garage about two blocks away. Not a dealbreaker, just something to factor in if you’re driving. The 8.7 rating makes sense when you experience the place; it’s not trying to be the fanciest hotel in Leipzig, but everything works well and the atmosphere is genuinely charming rather than manufactured. I stayed during a quieter period in early November, and the common areas had this cozy feeling where you’d actually want to sit and read rather than just rush through to your room. The whole experience felt more like staying at a well-run boutique place than a typical four-star chain, which in Leipzig’s increasingly crowded hotel scene, is actually pretty refreshing.

  What could be improved: Keine Ablagemöglichkeit am Bett im Wohnraum für Brille und Handy, besonders für die Person die an der Wand geschlafen hat.
  Fernsehen war für uns nicht einfach zu bedienen.

  Sehr zentral gelegen, super Ausstattung, schöner Altbau, Parkplatz um die Ecke.
  Man braucht aber kein Auto, von da aus kann man alles zu Fuß erreichen oder einfach ein paar Haltestellen Straßenbahn fahren.
