I mean, you’re still only about 15 minutes by tram to the city center, but the neighborhood has that lived-in German feel – corner bakeries where the staff actually remember your order, tree-lined streets where people walk their dogs at exactly 7 AM and 6 PM. The parking situation is actually manageable here, which anyone who’s driven in Leipzig proper will appreciate. Street parking was free when I stayed, though you’ll want to check the signs because German parking rules can be… particular.

What really sold me on the place was how the owners converted the space – they kept some of the original station elements (the high ceilings, these gorgeous old windows) but made it genuinely comfortable for longer stays. The kitchens are properly equipped, not just those sad hotel kitchenettes with two plates and a broken can opener. I’m talking full-size fridges, decent cookware, even proper coffee makers. The apartments feel more like borrowing a friend’s place than staying in a hotel, which is probably why they’re pulling a 9.1 rating. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that corporate hotel nonsense, just clear instructions and someone actually available when you need them. The whole building stays pretty quiet too, even though you’re right off a main street. Those thick old walls from the station days work in your favor. Only minor gripe? The WiFi can be a bit spotty in the back bedrooms, but honestly, that might force you to actually look up from your phone and notice you’re staying in a piece of Leipzig history.

  Der Gastgeber war äußerst freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer waren mehr als geräumig und alle notwendigen Utensilien waren vorhanden. Die Unterkunft hat einen angenehmen Charme sowie einen privaten Außenbereich mit abschließbarem Hof, in welchem auch geparkt werden kann. Zudem ist die Lage der Unterkunft hervorzuheben.
  
  What could be improved: Die Badewanne hatte keinen Vorhang oder einen anderweitigen Spritschutz. Duschen somit nur vorsichtig und im Sitzen möglich.
