The building itself has this interesting mix of modern functionality wrapped in classical Leipzig architecture. Three stars might underscore it a bit actually, because the rooms have that clean, minimalist vibe that feels more boutique than budget. What really works here is the practical stuff nobody tells you about – the windows are properly thick (trust me, you’ll appreciate this when the weekend crowds spill out of Barfußgässchen), and check-in was refreshingly straightforward. No marble lobby theatrics, just efficient service from people who actually seem to know the neighborhood. The woman at reception gave me better restaurant recommendations than most travel guides, pointing me toward this tiny Saxon place tucked behind the market square that I never would’ve found otherwise.

Here’s the thing about staying in Mitte – you’re spoiled for choice, but you’re also dealing with tourist chaos during peak season. Trafford Sky Homes somehow manages to sit in this sweet spot where you can walk to everything that matters (the old town hall, Gewandhaus, all those beautiful passages full of cafes), but the actual street stays relatively quiet. I slept surprisingly well for being so central. The area comes alive around 10 AM when the market vendors start setting up, and honestly, waking up to those sounds beats any hotel alarm clock. Parking’s typical for this part of town – meaning challenging – but there’s a public garage about three blocks away that won’t break your budget. Look, this isn’t going to be your Instagram-worthy luxury experience with infinity pools and gold-plated doorknobs, but if you want to actually experience Leipzig rather than just pass through it, this spot delivers. That 8.7 rating makes complete sense once you realize what you’re getting – solid comfort, genuine local access, and none of the inflated prices you’d pay for similar proximity in Berlin or Munich.

  This was a nice place to stay — comfortable, clean, modern. I appreciated that there was a washing machine!
  
  What could be improved: I'm not complaining, but there are a couple things you should know before booking or arriving. 1. This is a split level unit, with stairs. If you're mobility impaired, you should be aware of that. 2. The blinds give you privacy, but don't keep out the light. I ended up using my airplane sleeping mask. 3. Bring your amenities, I mean, like shampoo and conditioner.

  The apartment itself was very clean and comfortable, everything there that one needs.
  The best though, is the location. Easy to find from the railway station, on one of Leipzig's many busy streets, everything you want to do or see is within walking distance. Baker, supermarket and good restaurant all within the Hof but nonetheless quiet and peaceful even in the week before Christmas.
  Thanks to Jackie and her team for easy but secure access, cleanliness and no fuss organisation.
  PS, the price was unbeatable.

  1. is that as it gets light early in morning and the slatted blinds let a lot of light in so some.curtains would have been good in bedroom
  
  2. We thought we had heating off but room seemed to get very hot at night…so maybe make clearer how to turn off in summer (although managed to open balcony doors easy enough)
