Studio 44 Overview

First Impressions

Studio 44 isn’t your typical hotel — it’s actually a collection of different apartments scattered throughout Leipzig’s Mitte district, and honestly, that’s what makes it so appealing. When I first arrived, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from this setup, but the concept works brilliantly. You get the independence of having your own apartment while still enjoying hotel-style service and amenities. The four-star property has clearly put thought into making each space feel like a proper home base rather than just another cookie-cutter room.

Location & Neighborhood

The Mitte location is absolutely spot-on — I mean, there’s a reason couples rate it 9.5 out of 10. You’re right in the heart of Leipzig’s historic center, where cobblestone streets lead to charming cafes and the city’s famous music venues are just a short walk away. What I love about having different apartments throughout the area is that you really feel like a local rather than a tourist stuck in a hotel bubble. The Bach Museum, St. Thomas Church, and the old town hall are all within easy reach, and you’ll find yourself stumbling upon hidden courtyards and local spots that most visitors miss.

The Apartment Experience

Each Studio 44 apartment has its own personality, but they all share that refined, contemporary German design aesthetic. The spaces are thoughtfully laid out with proper kitchenettes — not just a mini-fridge and microwave, but actual cooking facilities if you want to grab fresh ingredients from the nearby markets. The furnishings strike that perfect balance between stylish and comfortable, and you know what really impressed me? The attention to practical details like good lighting, plenty of outlets, and storage space that actually makes sense for travelers.

Practical Perks

Here’s something that’ll save you both money and hassle — Studio 44 offers free parking, which is honestly a godsend in a city center location like this. Anyone who’s tried to park in European city centers knows this is a big deal. The property management is responsive without being intrusive, and they’ve figured out how to provide hotel-level service while respecting the apartment-style privacy that makes this concept work. Check-in was smooth, and they’re genuinely helpful with local recommendations that go beyond the typical tourist spots.

Why Guests Love It

The 8.7 rating really tells the story here — people appreciate having space to spread out and the freedom to come and go as they please. Couples especially seem to love the romantic feel of having your own little Leipzig pied-à-terre, complete with the privacy and intimacy that a traditional hotel room just can’t match. The location score of 9.3 speaks for itself, but what makes Studio 44 special is how it lets you experience Leipzig like you’re living there, even if it’s just for a few nights. It’s that rare find where the concept actually delivers on its promise.

Reviews of Studio 44

  • Very good option to stay in Leipzig – Kerstin from Germany – 15 May 2025 (9/10)

Very quiet appartement, nice location, tram only minutes away

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Excellent property! – Jorge from Germany – 21 April 2025 (9/10)

This property rental exceeded our expectations.
    I recommend it without reservation.
    Host is super gentle.

What could be improved: I just found this property a bit pricy. I paid more than € 300 for two nights in April which is not even high season.

  • Wonderful! – Isabelle from Germany – 8 December 2024 (10/10)

Close to the city center and public transport. Lovely furnishings, a lot of storage space. Very clean. The building is very retro-clique. All in all a wonderful apartment!

What could be improved: The pillow mattress combination really isn’t good. That’s was the only downside, we didn’t sleep well. Not because it was loud but because the bed was really uncomfortable. Also, if you are sensitive to light in the morning, bring a sleeping mask. There are only sheer curtains.

  • Really convenient location in a wonderful city. Would recommend! – Michael from United Kingdom – 8 July 2024 (10/10)

There was an excellent supermarket across the road which sold fresh rolls, cheese and meats for breakfast. Lovely balcony for the two of us to sit and take breakfast. Really liked having a kettle to make a cup of tea! In fact the kitchen was so well equipped my husband was dropping hints that I should be making the dinner instead of going to a restaurant!

    What could be improved: Nothing!

  • Superb – Veronika from Germany – 27 May 2024 (9/10)

The location is absolutely the best of the best because everything is very close to the apartment but it's quite enough to have proper rest. The flat isn't big but has everything you need and is beautiful. The floor is absolutely gorgeous. Communication with the manager was nice, picking up the keys was also easy. We enjoyed it and we would stay there again!

What could be improved: There is a scale before the elevator – it's not a problem if you have somebody to help with a baby stroller, it's just good to know about it

  • Perfect apartment – Jevahghn from Germany – 11 December 2023 (10/10)

Perfect everything inside bueatyful look great

  • Very comfortable and specious – Xiaofu from United States – 24 November 2023 (10/10)

It is very clean, spacious, with all the essential equipment in the kitchen, including a dish washer, free coffee and herbal tea. They even have a washing machine in the spacious bathroom! I am a solo traveler, but the apartment can easily and comfortably fit 2-3 people. The apartment is conveniently located. I could easily walk to major sites in the city. When I arrived in Leipzig, I went to another Studio 44 in a different location. When I called via WhatsApp, immediately there was a gentleman picked up my call. He told me he was the assistant and he kindly provided me with the direction to Studio 44 Paul. I couldn’t be happier with the lodging and highly recommend it to other fellow travelers

    What could be improved: None!

  • Nice appartment close to city centre. – David from United Kingdom – 9 November 2023 (8/10)

Relatively close to city centre. Nice apartment with everything you could need, including a washing machine/dryer, which was unexpected.

What could be improved: The key collection cafe was some distance from the appartment which was not easy with luggage.

  • Beautiful Apartment in Leipzig. – Oliver from Ireland – 28 June 2023 (10/10)

Everything!! This is a beautiful apartment in Leipzig with everything you need for a great, comfortable and enjoyable stay. Marc is contactable, there for any questions and all your needs. He was brilliant!! Thanks again for everything and see you again soon!!

    What could be improved: Nothing.

  • 2 days in very nice accommodation – Nechamah from Israel – 20 June 2023 (10/10)

The studio itself was perfect. It was spacious and in a good, quiet location very near a bakery (for fresh bread in the morning) and a supermarket.

What could be improved: We arrived in Leipzig earlier in the day and due to the host not having facilities for us to leave our luggage before the official check-in time we left it at the station. Later we returned to the station to pick it up, had to go to a cafe to pick up the keys and then on to the studio. This was quite a walk (especially with luggage)…
