The tram connections are solid too – Line 14 gets you into the city center in about fifteen minutes, though honestly, sometimes I just enjoyed the walk along the Karl-Heine-Kanal.

What I really appreciated was having that full kitchen setup. Not just a mini-fridge and kettle situation – I’m talking proper stove, decent-sized fridge, actual counter space where you can spread out groceries from the Konsum down the street. The washing machine is tucked into the bathroom (very German, if you ask me), but it’s genuinely useful if you’re staying more than a couple nights. The TV worked fine, though I’ll be honest – I mostly used it for background noise while I was planning day trips to Dresden.

The place itself has this lived-in feeling that’s either charming or slightly tired depending on your mood when you arrive. The floors creak a bit – not annoyingly, just enough to remind you you’re in a real building with actual character. Parking can be tricky on the street, but there’s usually something within a block or two if you’re patient. The 7.1 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow you away, but it does exactly what it promises without any nasty surprises.

I stayed there during one of those gray Leipzig Novembers, and you know what struck me? The heating actually worked properly (never a given in these older German apartments), and the windows sealed well enough that I couldn’t hear much street noise. Siemensstraße isn’t exactly a main thoroughfare anyway, so it stays pretty quiet even during the day. The check-in was straightforward – key pickup from a lockbox situation, very low-fuss.

Look, if you want someone greeting you with champagne and turndown service, this isn’t your spot. But if you’re the kind of traveler who likes having space to actually unpack, cook a proper breakfast, and feel settled somewhere for a few days – especially if you’re planning to explore Leipzig’s west side art scene or just want a base that doesn’t feel touristy – this place makes a lot of sense. Just don’t expect luxury; expect functional and honest, which in my experience is often better anyway.

  What could be improved: In der Wohnung sind die "stilvollen " Möbel kein Problem, alles Andere ist altbacken und das Ganze wirkt nicht liebevoll und gemütlich eingerichtet. Was aber gar nicht geht ist der Schmutz in den Ecken und Schimmelflecken im Schlafzimmer. Der angepriesene "eigene" Parkplatz entpuppt sich als ein Platz an der Straße, dort sind abends und am Wochenende die Plätze rar, obwohl auf dem Innenhof ausreichend Platz für das Fahrzeug wäre, aber da darf man laut Vermieter nicht stehen.

  Völlig unkomplizierter "Check in" da der Schlüssel in einer Box hinterlegt ist. Freundlicher Vermieter der sofort auf alle Fragen antwortet. Lage ist etwas abseits vom Zentrum aber durch in unmittelbarer Nähe zu Verfügung stehende öffentliche Verkehrsmittel in 15 min zu erreichen. Ansonsten gibt es nichts zu meckern. Sehr ruhiges Mietshaus. Wir kommen gern mal wieder vorbei.
