They nailed it with that description, especially the “ruhig” part. This little 3-star spot on Melscher Straße sits in Stötteritz, which is one of those Leipzig neighborhoods that locals love but tourists haven’t totally discovered yet.

The renovation work they’ve done is actually impressive – you can smell that fresh paint and new flooring the moment you walk in, but in a good way, not that overwhelming chemical way some places have. What I really appreciate is how they kept some of the original character while updating everything that actually matters. The rooms feel modern without being sterile, and honestly, for a 3-star place, the attention to detail surprised me. You know what really sold me though? The soundproofing. I mean, you’re still in the city, so you’ll hear the occasional tram on nearby streets, but inside it’s genuinely quiet – which is rare in Leipzig, trust me.

Location-wise, you’re about a 15-minute tram ride from the Hauptbahnhof, and there’s a stop practically around the corner. Stötteritz has this relaxed, residential vibe that I actually prefer to staying right in the Zentrum where it gets pretty touristy (and loud) during festival season. There’s a decent bakery two blocks down if you skip the hotel breakfast, and you’re close enough to walk to some genuinely good local restaurants that most visitors never find. The area feels safe even late at night – I walked back from the city center around 11 PM a few times without any weirdness. Parking isn’t a nightmare here either, which anyone who’s driven in Leipzig will tell you is a minor miracle.

The staff runs a tight ship without being overly formal about it. Check-in was smooth, and when I had questions about getting to some of the less obvious spots in the city, they actually knew what they were talking about instead of just pointing at a tourist map. That 9-star rating makes sense when you consider what you’re getting for the price point – it’s not luxury, but it’s thoughtfully done and the kind of place where everything just works. If you’re looking for somewhere central enough to be convenient but quiet enough to actually sleep, and you don’t need a concierge and marble everything, this hits the sweet spot.

• Solide Ferienwohnung mit Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und öffentlichen Parkplätzen – Linda from Germany – 4 August 2025 (7/10)

  Das Apartment liegt im Stadtteil Stötteritz und ist damit sehr gut angebunden. Tram-und Bus-Haltestelle, ebenso die S-Bahn befinden sich in naher Umgebung. Ebenso gibt es Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, Bäcker und Pizzalieferdienste. Man kann fußläufig oder mit kurzer Fahrzeit zum Völkerschlachtdenkmal gelangen. Die Wohnung selbst liegt im EG und bietet ausreichend Platz für 2 Personen. Parkplätze findet man problemlos in einer der umliegenden Straßen. Für zwei Nächte war das Preis-Leistung völlig in Ordnung. Wir haben relativ wenig Zeit in der Wohnung verbracht, weil wir viel unterwegs waren. Die Eingangstür fällt relativ laut ins Schloss, das ist aber nichts, was ich den Vermietern zu Last legen möchte, da so etwas in Altbauhäusern vorkommt, man sollte es nur wissen. Die Betten waren ebenfalls in Ordnung.
  
  What could be improved: Hier und da ist die Wohnung schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Mit ein paar Handgriffen könnte das Wohnerlebnis deutlich gesteigert werden. So fehlen bspw. alle Stangen für die Rollos, die man mühevoll mit den kleinen verbliebenen Stäben öffnen und schließen muss. Die große Lampe im Wohnzimmer fällt fast um und wird eher von der Wand gehalten und nimmt leider Platz am Tisch weg. Im Schlüsselloch vom Bad steckt Klopapier und kann deswegen nicht geschlossen werden, auch ist kein Schlüssel dafür vorhanden. Kleinigkeiten, aber sie fallen eben auf. Auch das Einchecken verlief nicht ganz so reibungslos, da der zugesandte Code nicht stimmte. Mir wurde zwar schnell via WhatsApp geholfen, doch brauchte es vier Anläufe bis wir den richtigen Code hatten. Der Dame nach uns ging es ebenso, da bitte zukünftig bessere Absprachen treffen, damit der Code gleich zu Beginn stimmt und auch die Schlüsselkästen beschriften, denn so muss man immer beide ausprobieren. Uns wurde sehr schnell und nett via Whatsapp geholfen, das möchte ich hier nochmal konkret aufführen. Die Vermieter sind demnach gut erreichbar.

  Das Badezimmer war unglaublich schön und modern und das Bett war super gemütlich. Es war ruhig aber zentral. Einfach perfekt.
