Look, I’ll be honest – when I first rolled up to Prorsus Design Apartments on Blücherstraße, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The name sounds all fancy and modern, but this part of Möckern has this interesting mix of old Leipzig character and new development that you don’t really get until you’re walking around. The building itself? Well, it definitely lives up to that “design” part of the name. Clean lines, lots of glass, the kind of place that photographs well but you wonder if it’s actually comfortable to stay in.

Here’s the thing though – it actually is comfortable, which honestly surprised me a bit. The apartments have this minimalist thing going on without feeling cold or sterile, you know? And the space! I mean, compared to your typical Leipzig hotel room, these feel massive. The kitchens aren’t just for show either (I actually cooked breakfast a couple mornings, which felt weirdly normal and nice). What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – Blücherstraße isn’t exactly a main thoroughfare, so you’re not dealing with trams rattling by every ten minutes like you would closer to the city center. The 8.3 rating makes sense when you factor in stuff like that. Oh, and parking – there’s actually space for your car, which anyone who’s tried to park in Leipzig’s Altstadt will tell you is worth its weight in gold.

The location is sort of perfectly positioned if you think about it. You’re far enough from the tourist chaos around Markt and Augustusplatz to feel like you’re living somewhere real, but close enough that a quick tram ride gets you right into the thick of things. I walked to that little bakery on the corner most mornings (the pretzel situation there is solid), and there’s a decent grocery store maybe five minutes away. Honestly, staying here felt less like being a tourist and more like temporarily living in Leipzig, which I think is exactly what they were going for. The whole setup works especially well if you’re staying more than just a night or two – I mean, why cram into a tiny hotel room when you can spread out a bit and actually unpack your suitcase for once?

  It's a spacious and quiet apartment, 5 min from transportation, grocery shopping and dining. The two bedrooms are on the opposite sides of the flat, so if you're two travelling friends you can have a lot of privacy. The beds are comfy. The balcony is a nice touch too. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

  Die Schlüsselübergabe verlief unkompliziert, die Wohnung war ruhig, sauber und gut ausgestattet.
  
  What could be improved: Der Gastgeber hat sich um ca. 20 Minuten verspätet und wir mussten vor der Wohnung warten. Glücklicherweise hatten wir es nicht eilig, daher war es nicht so schlimm.
