You know what caught me off guard about Parkside City Apartments No15? It’s actually not really parkside at all – well, not in the way you’d expect. The name had me picturing some leafy retreat, but honestly, what you get is something way better: you’re smack in the heart of Leipzig’s Mitte district on Hinrichsenstraße, which means you can stumble out the door and be at a proper German café in about thirty seconds.

I stayed here last spring when the city was just waking up from winter, and the location really grew on me. Sure, it’s urban – you’ll hear trams rumbling by and the occasional late-night reveler – but that’s Leipzig for you. The building itself has this solid, no-nonsense German apartment feel, which I mean in the best way possible. These aren’t cookie-cutter hotel rooms; they’re actual apartments with real kitchens where you can make proper coffee (thank god) and enough space to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase. The 4-star rating feels about right – it’s comfortable and well-maintained without being fancy for the sake of it.

What really sold me was how the staff actually seemed to know Leipzig. When I asked about getting to the Gewandhaus for a concert, the guy at reception didn’t just point vaguely and say “that way” – he told me which tram to catch and mentioned that there’s usually a decent crowd at Barfußgässchen afterward if I wanted a drink. That kind of local insight makes a difference when you’re trying to feel less like a tourist, you know? The 8.4 rating makes sense too; it’s not perfect (the Wi-Fi can be a bit temperamental, and some of the kitchen equipment has seen better days), but it delivers on what matters. Plus, being right in Mitte means you’re walking distance from the old town square, the market, all those narrow streets with the interesting little shops that you’d never find otherwise. I ended up extending my stay an extra night just because I didn’t want to deal with moving somewhere else – and honestly, because I’d found this amazing bakery just around the corner that I wasn’t ready to give up yet.

  Sehr gute Lage zw. Red Bull Arena und Zentrum. Schöner Stadtteil, nette Leute im Haus. Sehr ruhig.
  Geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Apartment mit allem, was man benötigt.
  Aufzug ab der ersten Etage.

  What could be improved: Parken ist leider sehr schwierig!
  Rundherum sind nur kostenpflichtige Parkplätze für denen man ein Ticket mit max. 3h (9€) kaufen kann. Am Wochenende sind die Parkplätze aber Rund um die Uhr kostenpflichtig, also müsste man theoretisch alle 3h zum Auto gehen und ein neues Ticket lösen. Wer mit abgelaufen erwischt wird zahlt .. nach meinem Erlebnis .. 40€.
  Wir waren aber auch an einem Konzertwochenende, an „normalen Tagen“ sind anscheinend irgendwo einfacherer Parkmöglichkeiten.

  Gute Lage, Tramhaltestelle direkt in der Nähe.
  Gut ausgestattete Küche mit Herd, Ofen und Spülmaschine. Zudem stehen Kaffeemaschine, Toaster und Wasserkocher parat. Ein Kühlschrank ist auch vorhanden.
  
  What could be improved: Eine der Steckdosen in der Küche hat nicht funktioniert. Für unseren Aufenthalt (4 Nächte) waren nur 1 1/2 Toilettenpapierrollen bereitgelegt. Die Stühle im Wohnzimmer sind eine sehr wackelige Angelegenheit.

  Die Wohnung hat eine tolle Lage, das Stadtzentrum ist zu Fuß erreichbar, trotzdem ist es ruhig.
  Die Ausstattung ist super, Spülmaschine, Toaster…
  Der Kontakt zum Vermieter war unkompliziert und nett.

  Sehr günstige und ruhige Lage zum Stadion, zum Zoo und zur Innenstadt. Sehr bequeme Matratzen.
  
  What could be improved: Ausstattung für den hohen Preis recht simpel. Ich hätte mir mehr Kissen und mehr Handtücher sowie eine waschbare Badematte gewünscht. Keine Parkmöglichkeit ohne ein Knöllchen zu riskieren.
  Vermieterin versucht nach der Buchung noch hohe Zusatzgebühren geltend zu machen. Danach hätte ich gerne storniert, aber das ist nicht kostenlos möglich.
