NH Leipzig Zentrum Overview
You know what struck me first about NH Leipzig Zentrum? It’s actually right there on Burgplatz – and I mean *right* there, like you step out the front door and you’re basically in the heart of old Leipzig. The building itself has this solid, understated presence that fits perfectly with the historic square, though honestly, you’d never guess it’s a modern hotel chain from the outside.
The thing about this place is that it gets the balance right between being professional and actually welcoming. Check-in was smooth (no hovering around the lobby for twenty minutes like some places), and the staff genuinely seemed to know Leipzig – not just the tourist spots but the real stuff. My room was on the fourth floor, and while it wasn’t huge, everything felt thoughtfully laid out. The bed was properly comfortable, and I appreciated that the windows actually opened, which is rarer than it should be these days. You can hear a bit of street noise in the mornings when the square gets busy, but it’s more charming than annoying – just the sounds of a city waking up.
What really sold me on this place was how it connects you to Leipzig without trying too hard. You’re a two-minute walk from St. Nicholas Church – you know, where those Monday demonstrations started that helped bring down the Wall – and the main shopping streets are right around the corner. But here’s what the guidebooks don’t tell you: there’s this fantastic little bakery called Café Kandler just down Grimmaische Straße that locals actually go to, and the hotel staff pointed me toward it instead of some tourist trap. The breakfast at NH was solid too, though I found myself grabbing coffee and pastries from Kandler most mornings because, well, when in Leipzig. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this area – the hotel doesn’t have its own lot, but there’s a public garage about three blocks away that’s not too expensive by German city standards. The whole Mitte district gets pretty quiet after 9 PM, which I actually loved – you get that peaceful European evening vibe without feeling like you’re stuck in a dead zone. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if you’re someone who likes being able to walk everywhere but doesn’t want to sacrifice a decent night’s sleep or a proper shower. It’s the kind of place that just works without making a big fuss about it.

Reviews of NH Leipzig Zentrum
A great stay in a very comfortable hotel. – William from United Kingdom – 3 August 2025 (9/10)
The location was perfect for the purpose I visited Leipzig, which was to explore the Thomaskirche and surrounding area. The room was comfortable, the staff helpful, and the breakfast had a number of great options.
Great stay overall – Florentina from Romania – 28 July 2025 (9/10)
The breakfast was excellent, with amazing staff there and a great variety of food.
Location is perfect; the room and the bathroom were beautiful and comfortable.
What could be improved: The only downside was the reception staff—robotic, unhelpful and unable to answer even basic questions. They clearly need training or replacement.
Because of this, I’m lowering the rating. Otherwise, the hotel is impeccable. Will be back! – Janecek from Czech Republic – 24 July 2025 (10/10)
Really enjoyed staying here. Amazing location, great rooms, great breakfast.
Very nice hotel in Leipzig – Christoph from Thailand – 24 July 2025 (10/10)
Amazing location, spacious and reasonable price
What could be improved: They didnt provide umbrellas, need to rent from them, 3 euro for 48 hours, not much but still annoyingExceptional – Samuel from United Kingdom – 22 July 2025 (10/10)
Very clean, lovely staff, perfect location.
Exceptional – Zdravko from Bulgaria – 21 July 2025 (10/10)
Spacious suite, great location, excellent breakfast.
What could be improved: No comment.Superb – Chua from Singapore – 17 July 2025 (9/10)
Rooms were large and clean.
What could be improved: The suite rooms were at the lower floors and facing inwards to the shopping centre, so there is no privacy. People taking the escalator within the mall could look directly into the rooms. So care must be taken to pull the curtains.Big clean rooms, and super central location – Sara from Denmark – 14 July 2025 (9/10)
Super central location. Easy walk to many restaurants, and public transportation. Parking and EV charging right outside hotel. We had a nice big room and it was super clean.
What could be improved: It was perfect for our one night stopover in Leipzig before continuing our trip.Good value for a four star hotel but service was a bit slow. – Jaymason from Ireland – 5 July 2025 (8/10)
The room was very nice with a good big bathroom and although no water provided (there was a mini -bar) there was free tea/coffee making facility. Breakfast was varied and good quality with all usual options and coffee machine.
What could be improved: The check in was very slow – only one person doing it, there was a queue and had to wait over half an hour.
No water in the room. No cleaning of the room until after 3 or 4 days and if you wanted anything you had to ask.Very nice hotel, but more than double price during a fest….not so nice. – Stafford from Germany – 5 July 2025 (8/10)
Yes, breakfast was quite good and the staff were very friendly.
What could be improved: I understand that during a fest, prices on hotels increase. But more than twice the normal rate is a wee extreme.
