The “Hochparterre” part just means you’re on the raised ground floor, so no hauling luggage up three flights of stairs – something my back definitely appreciated.

What actually makes this place special is how genuinely local it feels. I mean, you’re staying in a real Leipzig neighborhood here, not some touristy bubble. The Südvorstadt area around Volckmarstraße is where actual Leipzigers live and work, and you’ll figure that out pretty quickly when you hear the morning routine of neighbors heading out – it’s not intrusive, just… authentic, I guess? The apartment itself is well, it’s a 3-star place with a 7.8 rating, which honestly feels about right. Nothing fancy, but everything works the way it should. The rooms have that typical German efficiency thing going on – not huge, but thoughtfully laid out so you’re not bumping into furniture every five minutes. The kitchen setup actually lets you cook real meals if you want to save some euros (and trust me, you’ll want to after seeing restaurant prices in the city center).

Here’s what I really loved though – you can walk to the Karl-Liebknecht-Straße tram stop in maybe eight minutes, which connects you to pretty much everywhere you’d want to go in Leipzig. The Südfriedhof is right there if you’re into those atmospheric cemetery walks (weird recommendation, I know, but it’s actually beautiful), and you’re close enough to the action but far enough out that you won’t have drunk tourists stumbling past your window at 2 AM. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this area – it’s mostly street parking and the locals know all the good spots, so if you’re driving, maybe scout it out when you arrive. The whole vibe is just pleasantly residential without being boring, and the host seemed to actually care about the place rather than just collecting booking fees. Sure, it’s not going to wow you with luxury amenities or anything, but sometimes you just want a clean, comfortable base where you can spread out your stuff and feel like you’re experiencing the real Leipzig rather than some sanitized hotel version of it.

  What could be improved: WohnEssKüche war zu kalt, da der unterdimensionierte Heizkörper auch innerlich verschmutzt ist, was die Konvektion behindert. Wir haben den schwachen Elektroofen und den geöffneten Backofen gebraucht, damit wir nicht froren, dann war’s ok.

  Die Ausstattung der Wohnung ist sehr gut alles notwendige Vorhanden, Duschzeug, Kaffee, Gewürze, Öle etc.
  
  What could be improved: Leider sind die Nachbarn besonders über der Wohnung sehr laut gewesen man hat das Gefühl das eine Herde Elefanten von Abends bis spät in die Nacht trampelt und als Zugabe gab es dann noch lauten Sex nachts um 2 Uhr das die Wände gewackelt haben und eine Haustüre können die meisten auch nicht leise zumachen. Schade
