You know what struck me first about Marktblick Apartments? The name actually delivers – you really do get those market square views, and honestly, that’s rarer than you’d think with hotel names these days. I mean, I’ve stayed at plenty of places promising scenic vistas that turn out to overlook a parking lot, but from most of the windows here you’re looking right out onto Lindenauer Markt, which has this lovely, lived-in neighborhood feel that’s way more authentic than Leipzig’s tourist center.

The location is pretty genius if you’re planning to catch anything at RB Arena – it’s close enough that you could probably walk it (though most people grab the tram), but far enough that you’re not dealing with all that pre-game chaos and drunk football fans stumbling around at midnight. Alt-West has this interesting vibe where it feels properly German residential but without being stuffy about it. There’s a decent bakery literally across the square that opens ridiculously early, which saved me more than once when I had early meetings. The apartments themselves are what I’d call “thoughtfully simple” – someone clearly put effort into making them functional without going overboard on unnecessary designer touches. The kitchenettes are actually usable (I cooked pasta twice, no complaints), and the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every ten minutes like some places I could mention. Parking was surprisingly straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven in German cities will appreciate.

What really sells me on this place is how it sits in the neighborhood – you’re staying somewhere that feels like actual Leipzig rather than tourist Leipzig. The tram connections are solid if you want to get into the Altstadt for sightseeing, but honestly, some of my favorite moments were just wandering around Alt-West in the evenings when the locals are out walking their dogs and the whole area has this calm, end-of-day atmosphere. The 8.7 rating makes complete sense to me – it’s not trying to be luxury, but everything works properly and the staff (when you need them) seem to actually live in the city and know what they’re talking about. I’d definitely book again, especially if I’m in town for anything at the arena or just want to experience Leipzig like someone who actually lives there rather than racing between tourist sites.

  Świetny układ na piętrze dla grona przyjaciół. Dużo miejsca do siedzenia razem. Fajny balkon. Kuchnia dobrze wpasowana i wyposażona. Duży Kaufland na wszelkie zakupy 10 metrów od wejścia do klatki. Winda w budynku. Bardzo dobrze nam się nocowało.

  Das Appartement ist modern und ansprechend eingerichtet. Alles in der Küchenzeile vorhanden, was man für einen Kurzurlaub braucht. Bett sehr bequem. Großes Bad mit Dusche. Fenster in den Innenhof, daher auch ruhig und die Straßenbahn vor der Tür ( ein absolutes Plus) störte nicht. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten direkt vor der Haustür und in der Nähe tolle Cafés und Restaurants. Straßenbahn zum Zentrum, braucht nur 10/15 Minuten.
  Das Personal – vorher via Mail und sms kontaktiert – reagiert schnell und ist zudem super freundlich und hilfreich!! Herzlichen Dank dafür!!
