You know what caught me off guard about this place? Walking up to 2 Ungerstraße, I was expecting just another generic apartment rental, but this loft actually has some serious character. The whole “U2” thing isn’t just a gimmicky name either – there’s this genuine creative vibe running through the space that feels authentically Leipzig, not like someone just threw some band posters on the wall and called it themed.

The studio setup works really well, honestly. I mean, it’s not huge, but whoever designed this thing actually thought about how people move through a space. The kitchen flows into the main area without feeling cramped, and there’s this great light that comes through in the afternoons that makes the whole place feel bigger than it is. What I really appreciated was the attention to small details – proper coffee setup, decent shower pressure (always a gamble in these older Leipzig buildings), and they’ve got the heating sorted, which matters more than you’d think in this part of Germany. The location in Anger-Crottendorf is actually pretty smart too. You’re far enough from the Innenstadt chaos that you can get some sleep, but close enough that you’re not spending half your day on trams. I walked to the city center a few times – takes about 25 minutes if you don’t mind the stroll, or there’s decent public transport connections right there.

Here’s the thing that really sold me on this spot: it feels like staying in a neighborhood rather than just passing through. There’s this little bakery around the corner that locals actually use, not tourist stuff, and you start recognizing faces after a couple days. The building itself has some history – you can tell from the bones of the place – but it’s been updated thoughtfully. No weird quirks like doors that don’t quite close or electrical outlets in random places. I stayed here during a busy conference week in Leipzig, and while other parts of the city were completely booked up and overpriced, this felt like discovering something people hadn’t quite figured out yet. The 8.8 rating makes sense when you factor in that it’s not trying to be a luxury hotel – it’s just doing what it does really well. Perfect for someone who wants to experience Leipzig like they actually live there for a week, rather than just bouncing between tourist spots.

  Die Unterkunft ist sehr geräumig und hell gestaltet. Es war alles sehr sauber und ordentlich. In der Küche ist alles vorhanden was man braucht. Das W-LAN ist sehr schnell und der Smart Fernseher funktioniert ohne Probleme. Die Betten waren sehr bequem. Die Verbindung zur Vermieterin bei Fragen war sehr gut. Die Busverbindung zwischen dem Hauptbahnhof und der Unterkunft ist sehr gut.
  
  What could be improved: Es gibt über diese Unterkunft meiner Meinung nach nichts negatives zu sagen.

  Kerstin war ein sehr netter und zuvorkommender Host, besonders bei der unkomplizierten Umbuchung. Das Apartment war hervorragend ausgestattet, sehr geräumig und absolut sauber. Ich habe mich rundum wohl gefühlt und komme gerne wieder. Vielen Dank für den tollen Aufenthalt!

  Wir hatten die Wohnung für das Wochenende gemietet, um am Leipziger Halbmarathon teilzunehmen. Die Wohnung war sehr sauber, gut ausgestattet und die Vermieterin sehr flexibel. Gern wieder.

  Die Immobilie Top, die Lage mittel.
  Tolles Loft mit riesiger Fensterfront im minimalistischen Betonstyle. Hat mir sehr gefallen.
  Bei geschlossenen Fenstern ist es erträglich leise zum Arbeiten.
  
  What could be improved: Im Sommer wird es hier drinnen sehr heiß.
  Die riesige Fensterfront ohne Außenjalousien und ohne Klimaanlage wirkt naturgemäß wie ein Gewächshaus.
  Bei offenen Fenstern wird der Verkehrslärm leider sehr laut.
  Schlafen ohne Oropax geht Werktags von ca 23 bis 6 Uhr.
  An Wochenenden abweichend, wegen Späti vor der Haustür.

  Sehr netter Kontakt zu Vermieterin und Hausverwalterin! Die Wohnung ist sehr schön, großzügig und gut ausgestattet, die Matratzen super, das Bad picobello (und so eine schön geräumige Dusche!), blickdichter Vorhang im Schlafzimmer! Alles prima und wir kommen gerne wieder.

  Die Lage ist ruhig aber sehr nah an der Tram- und Bushaltestelle gelegen. So kommt man gut in die Innenstadt. Die Wohnung selbst ist sehr hell und groß, man fühlt sich sofort wohl und das liegt nicht nur an der tollen Wohnung, sondern auch an der fantastischen Gastgeberin. Mit ihr waren wir vorweg super in Kontakt und sie hat sich um alles gekümmert, sodass man nur hinkommen braucht und sich wohlfühlen kann. Auch die wundervolle Hausverwalterin und gute Fee :), die uns den Schlüssel übergeben hat, hat dafür gesorgt, dass wir uns rundum wohl gefühlt haben und es uns an nichts gefehlt hat. Vielen lieben Dank euch beiden nochmal, wir hatten eine richtig schöne Zeit in Leipzig :)!
