Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Loft Apartments on Südstraße, I wasn’t expecting much from this corner of Böhlitz-Ehrenberg. It’s one of those Leipzig suburbs that most tourists never see, about 20 minutes west of the city center, but that’s actually part of its charm. The building itself has this understated industrial vibe that works really well – you know, exposed brick mixed with modern touches, nothing too flashy but definitely not your typical German pension either.

What really won me over was how quiet it gets here, especially compared to staying right in Leipzig’s Zentrum. Sure, you’re not stumbling distance from the Barfußgässchen bars, but honestly? After a day of sightseeing, coming back to this peaceful pocket felt perfect. The apartments themselves are surprisingly spacious – and I mean actually spacious, not hotel-brochure spacious. The loft-style layout gives you room to spread out, which is rare at this price point. I particularly loved the high ceilings and how much natural light floods in during the day. The kitchenette situation is legit too – I actually cooked a few meals instead of eating out every night, which my wallet definitely appreciated.

The 8.2 rating makes total sense once you settle in. It’s not luxury by any stretch, but everything works properly and the place feels clean and well-maintained. Parking was never an issue, which anyone who’s tried to park in Leipzig proper will tell you is worth its weight in gold. The staff were helpful without being overbearing – they gave me solid recommendations for getting into the city (the S-Bahn connection is actually pretty smooth) and pointed me toward a great bakery just down the street that I never would’ve found otherwise. My only real complaint is that the WiFi gets a bit spotty in the evenings when everyone’s streaming, but it’s manageable. For what you’re paying at a 3-star place, and considering you get apartment-style space instead of a cramped hotel room, it’s honestly a smart choice if you don’t mind being slightly outside the tourist bubble. Plus there’s something nice about experiencing Leipzig like more of a local – taking the train in for the day, then retreating to your quiet neighborhood spot to recharge.

  Sehr saubere Unterkunft. Ausstattung ist auch toll, klein aber fein. Wir als kleine Familie waren sehr zufrieden. Lebensmittelgeschäft Minuten entfernt. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis hat auch gepasst. Würden wieder buchen.

  We stayed in the studio apartment. The apartment itself was a nice space.
  
  What could be improved: The location is really nowhere near the city center. It was a long walk from the s-bahn station. It was hard to find. It was in an industrial area. No coffee shops or restaurants nearby. We arrived at the apartment and there were no keys in the lockbox. We called the owner and he had to send a locksmith to rekey the door since the keys were lost. We have travelled all over Europe and this has NEVER happened before. It was a stress for us because we didnt know initially if we had to find other accommodations if we couldnt get inside. We lost over 1.5 hours of our time before we could get in. We had to sit outside – thank goodness it wasnt raining. We also had the toilet back up and there was no plunger for us to fix it. Also, a sink in the bathroom got plugged and we could not use it. During every shower the 2 doors dont close tightly so water gets everywhere – we had to use all of our towels to soak up the water on the floor. The mirror in the bathroom is too high so my wife who is 5 feet 7 inches was just tall enough to be able to use it. Anyone shorter would not be able to use it.

  Location was great, supermarket and train stations within easy walking. Great little gated community and felt very safe walking around with neighbours extremely friendly. Would not hesitate to book again.

  Spacious apartment perfect for our group of three adults and four children.Well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds.We particularly enjoys the garden with lots of toys for the kids and the play corner with toys and books. It was very practical to have a supermarket just around the corner. Check in instructions were clear and it went smoothly.

  the room was clean and confortable, parking available at the location, a supermarket was very close.
  
  What could be improved: it was a bit hard to find the apartment as there is no indication at the door to identify it, i believe this is due to currently renovation works on the site. we did find the building, then we just got lucky that someone there told us which is the apartment we looked for and there was no further need to contact the host.
