So I stumbled across LeHaStays Apartment Linkel during one of those frantic last-minute booking sessions, and honestly? It turned out way better than I expected for what you pay. The place sits on Linkelstraße in Wahren – which, if you’re not familiar with Leipzig, is this quietly residential neighborhood that feels refreshingly normal after bouncing around touristy city centers. You know what I mean? Sometimes you just want to wake up somewhere that actual people live.

The apartment itself has that practical German efficiency going for it, though it’s definitely more function over form. Three stars feels about right – it’s clean, the basics work, and there’s enough space to actually unpack your stuff instead of living out of a suitcase. The kitchen’s small but functional (I managed to make decent coffee and some simple meals), and the bathroom’s one of those compact European setups that somehow fits everything you need. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – Wahren doesn’t have the tram noise and late-night foot traffic you’d get closer to the Altstadt, so I actually slept well. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel with little bakeries and corner shops where people clearly know each other’s names.

Location-wise, you’re trading convenience for authenticity here. It’s not like you can stumble out the door to the Gewandhaus or St. Thomas Church, but the tram connections are solid once you figure them out – took me about twenty minutes to get into the main city center, which isn’t bad at all. I found myself walking around Wahren more than I planned, actually. There’s something nice about grabbing breakfast at a local spot where you’re the only tourist, then heading into Leipzig proper when you’re ready for sightseeing. The 7.2 rating makes sense to me – it’s not going to blow you away with luxury touches or Instagram-worthy design, but it delivers on what matters: a decent place to sleep, reasonable price, and a slice of real Leipzig life. If you’re the type who needs concierge service and fancy lobbies, look elsewhere. But if you want a solid base that won’t drain your travel budget and gives you a taste of how locals actually live? Yeah, I’d book it again.

  Das einzig gute, dass es im Schlafzimmer sehr ruhig ist.
  
  What could be improved: Hof sieht aus wie eine Müllhalde. Treppenhaus stinkt nach Urin.
  75€ für eine Reinigung zu verlangen ist schon heftig. Zumal es Spinnnetze gibt, die schon länger da hängen.

  What could be improved: – Bett und Bettwäsche schmutzig (fleckig und unansehnlich), Handtücher extrem hart, eher als Sandpapier zu verwenden
  (Wir haben komplett eigene Wäsche besorgt und verwendet.)

  – Wohnung macht insgesamt einen desolaten Eindruck, war bei Erstausstattung sicher angemessen, jetzt stark abgewohnt und verschlissen

  Das Flair des Slum hat auch so sein Scharm, sehr nache an den Park am Fluss, nahe an meiner geschäftlichen Atraktion. Aber das war schon alles…
  
  What could be improved: Sehr teuer dafür das die Wohnung quasi halbfertig übergeben wurde… zum treppenhaus geht man durch einen nach urin und Müll stinkenden Hinterhof. Der Hinterhof mit Bauschutt und Abbruch vermüllt. Ich habe noch nie im Leben so schmutzige Fenster gesehen. Sehr schlecht renoviert, überall beim Streichen übergemahlt, sehr schlampig. Ein wackeligen Tisch in der Wohnung, die Fenster mit Farbe verpatzt. Eine Klinke ab. Keine Garderobe bzw. Haken und Bügel. Ich hab mir n Stuhl geholt um abzulegen. Schlechte matratze. . Der Punkt auf dem i war noch eine Reinigungspauschale…für eine schmutzige Wohnung.
