Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “LE-Citywohnung-I” on my booking confirmation, I thought I’d made some terrible mistake with a dodgy apartment rental. But this little gem on Gustav-Adolf-Straße actually turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something the guidebooks missed. It’s tucked right in Mitte, which means you’re basically in the thick of everything Leipzig has to offer without the tourist trap pricing you’d expect.

The thing that struck me right away was how quiet it gets at night, even though you’re literally surrounded by the city center. I mean, Gustav-Adolf-Straße isn’t exactly a main thoroughfare, but you’re still close enough to walk to the Marktplatz in about eight minutes (I timed it, because that’s what I do). The building itself has this understated German efficiency vibe – nothing flashy, but everything works exactly as it should. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, none of that overly complicated key card drama some places put you through. The staff actually seemed to know the neighborhood well enough to give decent recommendations, which is rarer than you’d think.

What really won me over, though, was how the place manages to feel like an actual home rather than just another sterile hotel room. The apartment-style setup means you’ve got proper space to spread out, and honestly, after weeks of cramped hotel rooms across Europe, having a real kitchen felt like luxury. You know what I appreciated? The little details that show someone actually thought about how people live – decent lighting for reading, enough outlets where you need them, and windows that open properly (shocking concept, right?). The rating of 9.1 starts making sense when you realize it’s probably coming from people who, like me, weren’t expecting much but ended up genuinely impressed. It’s not fancy – this is definitely a solid 3-star experience – but it’s the kind of place where everything just works without any fuss. Plus, being in Mitte means you can walk to pretty much anywhere worth visiting in Leipzig’s old town, and there’s a surprisingly good café scene right in the neighborhood that most tourists never stumble across.

  Schönes, gemütliches Appartement, sehr sauber, gute Ausstattung, gute Lage, Parkplatz, Fahrstuhl, tolle Spiele für unseren Sohn. Absolut empfehlenswert
  
  What could be improved: Nur Kleinigkeiten : Betten für unseren Geschmack zu weich; keine richtige Verdunkelung im Wohnzimmer. Wir würden aber dennoch auf jeden Fall wiederkommen

  War das zweite Mal dort und kann es nur empfehlen! Man ist schnell zu Fuß in der Stadt, im Zoo und direkt um die Ecke die Öffentlichen! Die kleine Küche hat alles, was man braucht! Der Aufzug ist mit Koffern sehr hilfreich 😃

  You can tell that the owner put effort into furnishing the apartment – everything inside is of good quality and arranged with a lot of thought. I especially appreciated that there was already coffee and tea available 🙂
  The rest of the house is mostly offices, so it's very quiet in the evening and weekend. Supermarket and tram are around the corner.
  Bonus: The house has an absolutely beautiful staircase!
  
  What could be improved: Only one very minor complaint: There was a light on the whole night at the back of the house that the blinds wouldn't completely block out.

  Centrally located, clean apartment in quiet surrounding with one combined living room / kitchen and one bedroom (the latter facing the yard). First upper floor with elevator. Big, modern and well-equipped bathroom/WC – though only accessible through the bedroom. Fast internet. For the kitchen all the tools I needed were provided. Easy handöver of the key to the apartment.
  
  What could be improved: The space for cooking, etc in the kitchen was very narrow, and so was the sink, making doing the dishes a bit of a fuss (no dishwasher). I missed a normal-height table with plain kitchen chairs for eating and doing some evening work.

  Die Wohnung hat eine sehr ruhige Lage mit guter Anbindung an die Öffis. Zur Quarterback- und zur RedBull Arena kommt man super zu Fuß.

  Cozy apartment, great location, friendly host, optional parking was very convenient. The kitchen had absolutely everything we needed.
  After a business trip a takeout pizza night in was exactly what we needed, and this apartment was perfect for it.

  The bed room, wash room and living room were well designed and kept tidy. Indoor plants, curtains, and furniture were simple, but organised quite well. The facilities and utensils provided at the kitchen were very useful. For a breakfast and even a dinner preparation almost all required utensils were there. All extra requirements for a longer stay like towels, tissues, were kept in the storage. The host was well responsive to our queries (through messages) prior and during our stay.
  
  What could be improved: The waste disposal needed to be done by ourselves which was ok for a stay like ours for a week. But the waste disposal bins kept in the backyard were not properly labelled which posed a bit difficulty to ensuring segregated waste disposal.

  What could be improved: The couch is not a comfortable sleeping place for an adult. The apartment should not be advertised as accommodating three adults.

  The apartment is located in a fantastic building. It’s comfortable, bright and beautiful. Very clean, well maintain and organized. The kitchen has everything, even though it’s small. Little things like hanger for jackets, an electrical box, candles and coffee are most appreciated.
