Hotel Lindenthal Overview
You know what? Hotel Lindenthal is one of those places that grows on you. When I first pulled up on Lindenthaler Hauptstraße, I’ll be honest – it’s not going to wow you from the outside. It’s got that solid, no-nonsense German building vibe going on, but there’s something quietly reassuring about it. The kind of place where you immediately know the Wi-Fi will actually work and the shower won’t leave you freezing halfway through.
The location is actually pretty clever if you know Leipzig at all. You’re in the Nordwest district, which means you get that local residential feel without being stuck in the middle of nowhere. There’s a decent bakery about two blocks down that locals hit up for their morning brötchen – honestly better than whatever continental breakfast most hotels serve. The tram connections are solid too, though I’d grab a day pass because you’ll probably want to hop around the city center. Parking wasn’t a nightmare either, which… well, if you’ve driven in German cities, you know that’s worth mentioning.
What I really appreciated was how the staff actually seemed to care about getting things right. Check-in was smooth, no weird upselling attempts, and when I asked about restaurant recommendations, the guy at the front desk gave me three different options based on what I was in the mood for – not just the tourist traps. The rooms are clean and functional, maybe a bit on the compact side, but honestly that’s most German hotels unless you’re dropping serious cash. The beds are firm (again, very German), and the windows actually open, which is a small miracle in hotel land. You can hear some street noise during the day, but it dies down by evening, and the double-paned windows help more than you’d expect.
I mean, look – this is a solid 3-star place with a 7.1 rating, so we’re talking about good value, not luxury. The breakfast room has that slightly outdated but well-maintained feel, sort of like staying at your organized aunt’s house. Everything works, it’s clean, and you feel taken care of without any fuss. If you’re the type who needs a concierge and turndown service, keep looking. But if you want a reliable base for exploring Leipzig without paying city center prices, and you appreciate when a place just does the basics really well, Hotel Lindenthal hits that sweet spot. Plus, there’s something nice about staying in a neighborhood where you see actual Leipzigers going about their daily lives instead of just other tourists taking selfies.
Best hotels in Leipzig range from charming boutique properties in the historic Market Square to elegant converted buildings with stunning views of St. Thomas Church and the old town.

Reviews of Hotel Lindenthal
Great value – Steve from United Kingdom – 3 July 2025 (8/10)
The location was great
What could be improved: No air con, downstairs under constructionShort stay – Alisia from Greece – 14 June 2025 (10/10)
I was only in Leipzig for a day since I was going to a concert. Didn’t spend much time in the hotel as I only needed a place to sleep and shower. Room was spacious and comfortable, bathroom was clean, staff was friendly. The location was great and was the main reason i chose this hotel as it meant i could walk to and from the concert venue (Haus Auensee)
Soweit alles okay – Rainer from Germany – 22 October 2024 (6/10)
Freundliches Personal
What could be improved: Leider war das Restaurant wegen Rohrbruch geschlossen, so dass wir kein Frühstück bekommen haben.Superb – David from United Kingdom – 2 September 2024 (9/10)
The staff were excellent. The train from Frankfurt was 4 hours late, but someone stayed up for me until after midnight.
Good – Davide from Italy – 25 June 2024 (7/10)
Very very friendly staff, the hotel is far from city but easy linked with BUS / Taxi (no UBER). Probabily this wasn't the correct hotel for my kind of journey but they tried to attempt to my requests as soon as possible.
Exceptional – Karlo from Czech Republic – 20 October 2023 (10/10)
Newly renovated floors and overall added some new things. Refreshed. Always nice people, lady and the man. I enjoy being there when I work around Leipzig.
Good – Markus from Germany – 12 October 2023 (7/10)
What could be improved: Breakfast room in the basement, it was clean and the food okay, but not a lot of light. It also was quite noisy when all the other guests were having breakfast und the tv running.
Hotel with awesome Vietnamese kitchen – Karlo from Czech Republic – 9 August 2023 (10/10)
The restaurant in the hotel has awesome Vietnamese kitchen 👌
Owners are very kind, and because of them I feel a bit like at home
What could be improved: All good 👍Not really in Leipzig. A suburban hotel. – Leslie from United Kingdom – 2 October 2022 (8/10)
Run by Vietnamise, so it was nice to try a new (to me) cuisine in the restaurant.
Comfortable room. Good stopover hotel.
What could be improved: Well away from the city centre with little to see or do nearby.8 – Angelina from Germany – 27 September 2022 (8/10)
Price OK
What could be improved: Location was not the best, not close to centrum.
