You know what caught me off guard about this place? The name is absolutely terrible – “HappySide o FREE park o Balkon o Nespresso o WLAN” sounds like someone just mashed keywords together – but honestly, once you’re there, you forget all about it because the actual experience is pretty solid. I stayed here last spring when I was exploring Leipzig’s quieter neighborhoods, and this little spot in Möckern turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something the tour groups haven’t found yet.

The location is actually brilliant if you know Leipzig at all. Toskastraße sits in this residential pocket that’s far enough from the city center chaos but close enough that you can bike into the Altstadt in about fifteen minutes (there’s a decent bike path that cuts through some lovely green spaces). The Möckern area has this authentic, lived-in feel – you’ll see families walking to the local bakery in the morning, and there’s a small Turkish market just around the corner that stays open late if you need snacks or forgot something. What I really appreciated was the genuine quiet at night; you’re not dealing with drunk tourists stumbling past your window at 2 AM like you would near the Markt.

The room itself – well, they weren’t lying about that balcony and the Nespresso machine. I’m usually skeptical when hotels make a big deal about their coffee setup, but this one actually had decent pods, and sitting out on that little balcony with a morning espresso while watching the neighborhood wake up became my daily ritual. The parking situation is refreshingly straightforward too; it’s actually free (which is getting rare these days), and you don’t have to circle around looking for a spot like you do in the city center. The WiFi works properly – I mean, it’s 2024, this shouldn’t be noteworthy, but you’d be surprised how many places still mess this up. I was working remotely for part of my stay, and never had those annoying connection drops during video calls. The room felt thoughtfully put together rather than just functional – small touches like decent lighting for reading and outlets where you actually need them. Sure, it’s not going to win any design awards, but everything works, it’s clean, and there’s this comfortable, unfussy vibe that makes you want to actually relax instead of just crash for the night. If you’re planning to explore Leipzig beyond the obvious tourist spots, or if you’re traveling by car and want somewhere genuine without the downtown premium, this place gets it right.

  Sehr schönes und sehr sauberes Apartment (2. Etage mit Balkon) in einer ruhigen, größeren Wohnanlage. Es ist alles vorhanden was man braucht. Die Straßenbahnhaltestelle zur Innenstadt ist ca. 200m entfernt. Autostellplatz in der Tiefgarage, alledings etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig (2 Stellplätze in einer Lucke, über eine Hebevorrichtung zu bedienen). Alle Informationen zum Apartment und zur Schlüsselübernahme (Briefkasten mit Zahlenkombination) wurden problemlos übermittelt. Guter telefonischer Kontakt zum Gastgeber.
  
  What could be improved: Für mich fast etwas zu ruhig. Abendliche lautere Gespräche auf dem Balkon sollte man vermeiden (Nachbar hat sein Schlafzimmer gleich nebenan). Für Raucher nicht geeignet. Auch auf dem Balkon ist Rauchen verboten. Wen das allerdings nicht stört, dann ist das ein wirklich tolles Apartment mit guter Straßenbahnanbindung.

  Eine sehr süße Wohnung und sehr schick gemacht, sodass man sich wohl fühlt. Super sauber. Wenn irgendwas was war, wurde das Problem sofort gelöst.

  This is my second stay at this place, and everything about the accommodation was just as good as before. It seems they’ve also managed to resolve the issue with ants that occasionally appeared in the kitchen.
  
  What could be improved: Unfortunately, this time my requests for an invoice went unanswered, despite several persistent attempts. I had to find another way to resolve the issue. This was quite surprising, as during my previous stay, the hosts were very responsive, and I received the invoice promptly. It’s odd that things were different this time.
