And here’s the thing everyone misses about this area: you’re literally a 15-minute bike ride from Augustusplatz, maybe 20 to the Markt. Speaking of bikes, they just hand you the keys to decent ones when you check in. No deposit drama, no lecture about bringing them back scratched. It’s refreshingly chill, and honestly, cycling through Leipzig’s flat streets is probably the best way to see the city anyway.

What really got me was how they’ve nailed the small stuff without making a big deal about it. The Netflix thing isn’t just some marketing gimmick – there’s actually a proper smart TV setup that works seamlessly (you know how hotel WiFi usually is). The rooms have this lived-in comfort that feels more like staying at a friend’s place than some sterile hotel box. I mean, don’t expect luxury finishes or marble bathrooms, but everything’s clean and functional with little touches that show someone cares. The lighting is warm instead of those harsh overhead fluorescents, and there’s actual drawer space, not just a tiny closet rod. Check-in was refreshingly human too – the owner clearly knows the neighborhood and gave me better restaurant recommendations than any guidebook I’ve read.

The 8.8 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, but it absolutely delivers on what it promises. You get the peace and quiet of a residential neighborhood (seriously, I slept better here than in most city center hotels), easy access to everything that matters in Leipzig, and that rare combination of genuine hospitality without the corporate polish. The demographic staying here tends to be travelers who actually want to experience Leipzig rather than just tick it off a list – lots of cyclists, some longer-term visitors, people who appreciate good value over flashy amenities. If you’re the type who needs a concierge and room service, look elsewhere. But if you want a comfortable base to explore Leipzig with hosts who actually give a damn, this is your spot.

  Nice neighbourhood. Comfy apartment easily accessible with elevator (although there are a few steps to climb to reach elevator, so wheelchair would be difficult). Car parking on the street (free of costs, but busy/little space). Spacious apartment.

  Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber, gemütlich eingerichtet mit Allem, was man sich für einen Städtetrip wünschen kann.
  Uns wurden sogar zwei gepflegte, fahrtüchtige Räder zur Verfügung gestellt. Dies hat uns viel Flexibilität geboten und es hat uns viel Spaß bereitet, damit durch Leipzig zu radeln.

  Alles vorhanden, was man irgendwie zum Leben und als Selbstversorgen brauchen könnte. Sehr sauber und ruhig. Komme sehr gerne wieder. Dann möchte ich auch das Fahrrad nutzen, wenn das Wetter etwas freundlicher ist.

  Gemütliche Atmosphäre. Räumlichkeiten sauber. Top Lage mit Nähe zum ÖPNV. Gastgeber hat sich nach der Ankunft telefonisch erkundigt, ob alles in Ordnung ist. Einfacher Check-In.
  
  What could be improved: Kaffeemaschine und Wasserkocher bräuchten mal eine Grundreinigung. Als Parkplatz waren nur die öffentlichen, sehr vollen Parkstreifen an der Straße verfügbar.

  The place was neat and clean; we had a comfortable stay. All the things that we needed in it were almost like new. Lighting was adequate, and we loved that the night lights also have their own electric sockets. It was also nice that they have enough (and by that I mean many) hangers for clothes.

  Wonderful well furnished clean apartment. We had everything we needed. The apartment is not far from the city centre. It was not a big deal to find parking slot for our car near the building. Wi-Fi works very well. Olga is a really nice host, she was always in touch.
  It’s a pity that we spent only one day there.
