But walking into this apartment-style hotel on Rosentalgasse – well, it completely changed my perspective on what a 4-star stay in Leipzig could be.

The thing that struck me immediately was how they’ve managed to capture that perfect balance between being right in the thick of things but still feeling like you have your own private retreat above it all. I mean, you’re literally in Mitte, which is about as central as it gets in Leipzig, but the maisonette setup means you’re not dealing with typical hotel corridor noise or cramped rooms. The space actually feels generous – and I say that as someone who’s stayed in way too many European “luxury” hotels where you can barely open your suitcase. You know what really impressed me though? The little details that show someone actually thought about how people live, not just sleep. The kitchen setup isn’t just for show – it’s actually functional if you want to grab some fresh bread from the morning markets around Augustusplatz and make yourself a proper breakfast. And honestly, after walking around Leipzig’s incredible food scene (the area around Barfußgässchen is incredible, by the way), sometimes you just want to come back and decompress in your own space.

The location is pretty much perfect if you want to explore Leipzig properly. You’re close enough to walk to the Bach Museum and St. Thomas Church – I could literally hear the church bells from the apartment, which sounds potentially annoying but was actually quite lovely. The tram connections from nearby are solid too, though I found myself walking most places because, well, everything’s just there. One morning I walked down to the old market square for coffee, then over to the Monument to the Battle of Nations in the afternoon, and never felt like I was fighting the city to get around. The 9.6 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s one of those places where you can tell the owners actually care about the experience, not just filling rooms. Check-in was smooth, the space was spotless, and I didn’t encounter any of those little frustrations that usually pop up (you know, like shower pressure that barely exists or Wi-Fi that cuts out every ten minutes). If you’re the type who wants hotel services on demand, this might not be your thing. But if you prefer having your own sophisticated space in the heart of one of Germany’s most underrated cities – and honestly, Leipzig is having such a moment right now – this maisonette delivers exactly what it promises.

  Toplage, auf der einen Seite Park (waren mit Hund) und auf der anderen Seite kurz über die Straße und man ist in der Stadt.
  Für uns absolut angenehm das die Betten bei Ankunft bezogen waren, Handtücher da sind, und Sachen wie Salz, Pfeffer, Zucker und Kaffee etc. vorhanden sind-besonders wenn man an einem Feiertag anreist und nicht einkaufen kann sehr angenehm. Auch Geschirrspültabs, Lappen usw.. Gibt es oft genug nicht-oder nur gegen Aufpreis. Die Wohnung toll groß! Unsere Kinder waren begeistert von den vielen Spielemöglichkeiten. Mit Klimaanlage im Sommer auch wunderbar angenehm.
  Absolut empfehlenswert, sehr nette Gastgeber.

  Good location, walked to historic sites. Near grocery stores to supply apartment. Plenty of towels, soap, shampoo, cleaning supplies and staples for fixing food.

  This apartment is really a dream. We stayed here with some friends and the spacious layout meant that everyone had plenty of room. There are three beautiful bedrooms and a large living area on the upper floor. The apartment is absolutely central. On one side is the city center with all the highlights of Leipzig. On the other side is the Rosental, a great park to relax in. The apartment is fully equipped. You can well and relax on the roof terrace. We had a great time and would love to come back anytime.
