It’s tucked away on Aurelienstraße in Alt-West, which honestly is one of those Leipzig neighborhoods that locals love but tourists haven’t completely discovered yet. I mean, you’re close enough to the action but far enough out that you won’t hear drunk tourists stumbling home at 3 AM.

The apartment itself is exactly what you’d expect from a solid 3-star place, but it’s those little touches that bump it up. That balcony they mention? It’s not huge, but it catches the morning sun perfectly, and you can actually see some greenery – not just the back of another building like so many city places. The whole setup feels like someone’s actual home rather than a sterile rental property. I noticed they’ve got proper German windows (you know, the ones that tilt two different ways), which might seem random but trust me, it makes a difference when you want fresh air without freezing your face off. The kitchen’s well-equipped too – not just a hot plate and a prayer, but actual cooking gear if you want to hit the nearby markets and make something decent.

What really sold me on this spot was the neighborhood vibe. Alt-West has this relaxed, slightly artsy feel without being pretentious about it. There’s a great little bakery maybe two blocks down that does incredible Streuselkuchen, and the local pub scene is way more authentic than what you’ll find in the touristy center. Plus – and this matters if you’re driving – parking isn’t the nightmare it is closer to the Altstadt. The 8.8 rating makes total sense to me; it’s not trying to be luxury, but everything works properly and feels thoughtfully done. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I wanted to experience Leipzig more like a temporary resident than a tourist just checking boxes. Sometimes you find those places that just feel right, and this is one of them.

  Bei Ankunft direkte Schlüsselübergabe, tiptop saubere Wohnung, gemütliches Bett, wlan, TV, Bad – alles bestens. Super ruhige Lage, genügend Parkplätze im Umfeld, schöner, kleiner Balkon zum Innenhof, unfassbar ruhig, große Couch, Spiele, usw. Anfragen wurden zu jeder Zeit unmittelbar beantwortet und alles umgesetzt, um sich sehr wohl zu fühlen. In Plagwitz eine sensationelle Unterkunft an der es wirklich überhaupt gar nichts auszusetzen oder zu bemängeln gibt. Herzlichen Dank.

  Everything was great besides the booking process as mentioned before. Clean, well equipped, good location, just a view steps and then easy access, quiet area but still close to living Karl-Haine-Straße and a good host. Thanks!
