Gemütliche Ferienwohnung am Uniklinikum Leipzig -“Pauli” Overview
Honestly, when I first saw “Gemütliche Ferienwohnung am Uniklinikum Leipzig” I thought – well, that’s quite a mouthful. But locals just call it “Pauli,” which makes way more sense when you’re actually staying on Paul-List-Straße. And you know what? This little apartment totally lives up to that “gemütlich” promise – it’s got that cozy, lived-in feeling that makes you want to kick off your shoes and settle in for more than just a night.
The location is honestly perfect if you’re dealing with anything medical-related (hence the “Uniklinikum” part), but don’t let that fool you into thinking it’s sterile or hospital-adjacent in a bad way. You’re right in Leipzig’s Mitte district, which means you can walk to the old town center in about fifteen minutes, maybe twenty if you stop for coffee along the way. I actually loved the morning routine here – there’s this little bakery two blocks down that opens ridiculously early, and the smell of fresh bread sort of drifts through the neighborhood around 6 AM. The area gets busy during weekday mornings with medical staff and students heading to work, but evenings are surprisingly quiet. Parking can be a bit tricky during peak hours (learned that the hard way), but there are usually spots if you’re willing to walk a block or two.
What really impressed me was how thoughtfully everything’s set up inside. I mean, it’s technically a 4-star place, and that 8.6 rating makes total sense once you’re actually there. The kitchen has everything you’d actually use – not just the bare minimum tourist setup – and the bed is one of those firm European mattresses that somehow manages to be incredibly comfortable. The Wi-Fi is solid (I was working remotely for part of my stay), and there’s this great little seating area by the window where you can watch Leipzig wake up in the morning. The check-in process was refreshingly straightforward too – none of that awkward key-juggling you sometimes get with apartment rentals. Only minor complaint? The shower pressure could be better, but honestly, after walking around Leipzig all day, you’re just grateful for hot water. If you’re looking for something that feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a generic hotel room, and you want to be close enough to everything without being right in the tourist chaos, Pauli really delivers on that promise.

Reviews of Gemütliche Ferienwohnung am Uniklinikum Leipzig -“Pauli”
Super schöne Wohnung – Lisa from Germany – 19 June 2025 (9/10)
Man kommt überall schnell hin.
Cozy apartment both for work or holiday. – Isko from Finland – 24 May 2025 (9/10)
The apartment was cozy. Location was 1,5 km from center, which was all right to walk. Couple of supermarkets and cafes nearby. Recommend REWE instead of the more nearby Aldi..The futon style bed was the best bed that we have had in any short-term rental or in a hotel. TV had streaming channels. Free parking was good. On one day there was a power failure and related hot water and heating failure. The owner kept us well informed about the failure, it was on the city network. I could park my bike inside, there was enough room after moving some furniture. Quiet neighbourhood and very quiet hoise.. The biggest noise was an occasional helicopter bringing patients to the hospital at the end of the street..
What could be improved: Kitchen working area is small so it took some time to learn how to cook and do the dishes. Kitchenware could have been better quality, but we are used to that e.g. knives in short term rentals are dull, and bring our own. Storage space was adequate, but first we had to move all stuff of the cleaning service away because it filled almost all storage space. There is a balcony, but we did not use it because it was on the ground level, sun never shone there and the main view was several scrap-grade bikes parked in the inner yard. Location is not very good if you need to get out from Leipzig with a car fast. Generally traffic near the center is slow.Superb – Paul from Germany – 17 March 2025 (9/10)
Check In selbstständig. Wir würden diese Unterkunft wieder aussuchen.
What could be improved: Wenn für die Kaffee-Tab-Maschine noch Kaffee-Tabs dagewesen wären, wäre das der sprichwörtliche Tab auf der Kaffeemaschine gewesen. Ansonsten war alles vorhanden.Exceptional – Barbara from Germany – 2 March 2025 (10/10)
You definitely need to book! – Vjaceslavs from Latvia – 4 January 2025 (10/10)
This is the case when there is nothing to find fault with: starting from the apartment, which was designed by specialists, and ending with the car parking.
Sehr empfehlenswert! – Jessica from Germany – 21 October 2024 (10/10)

I really liked the apartment. It was very cozy, comfortable and set with love. The rules were clearly spelled out. Situated just near the hospital. Very convenient if you come to visit someone there. Also not far away from city center. Thanks very much for such a pleasant stay!
Good – Doraid from Jordan – 10 August 2024 (7/10)
