FullHouse – Leipzig – S1 Apartments – Elevator Overview

You know what struck me first about FullHouse on Stiftsstraße? It’s this converted building that feels like someone took a really solid apartment complex and said “let’s make this work for travelers” – and honestly, they kind of nailed it. The elevator (yeah, they put it right in the name because apparently that’s a selling point here) is one of those older European ones that makes you feel like you’re in a proper German building, not some generic hotel chain.

The location is actually pretty clever if you know Leipzig at all. Stiftsstraße sits in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to the action but far enough out that you’re not dealing with the weekend crowds stumbling around at 2 AM. I mean, you can walk to the main market square in about fifteen minutes, maybe twenty if you’re taking your time and actually looking at the architecture – which you should, because this part of the city has some gorgeous old buildings that somehow survived everything history threw at them. The S-Bahn connection is decent too, though I’d recommend grabbing a day pass if you’re planning to hop around the city much.

What I really appreciated were the apartment-style setups – you get actual space to spread out, which is rare for a 3-star place. The kitchenettes aren’t huge, but they’re functional enough that you can do more than just make coffee (though the coffee situation is solid). There’s this practical German efficiency to everything that I found oddly comforting. The rooms feel lived-in rather than sterile, if that makes sense. Some might call it worn, but I’d say it’s got character – like staying in your German friend’s spare room rather than a corporate box. The WiFi actually works consistently, which honestly puts it ahead of some fancier places I’ve stayed.

Now, it’s not perfect – the sound insulation between rooms is pretty typical for older buildings, so if you’re a super light sleeper, pack earplugs. And while the staff is helpful, don’t expect round-the-clock concierge service. But here’s the thing: for what you’re paying, especially in Leipzig where decent accommodation can get pricey during trade fair season, it delivers exactly what it promises. You get a clean, functional base with enough local flavor to feel like you’re actually staying in Leipzig, not just some international hotel bubble. Plus, having that elevator means you’re not hauling your luggage up three flights of narrow stairs – trust me, after a long travel day, that matters more than you’d think.

Apartments in Leipzig provide travelers with authentic local experiences, allowing them to explore traditional Saxon markets and cook with regional German specialties.

Reviews of FullHouse – Leipzig – S1 Apartments – Elevator

  • Good – Noelia from Argentina – 11 June 2025 (7/10)

The location was good and the fact that you only need the code to get in was very useful.

What could be improved: It could have been cleaner and the soap in the bathroom was almost empty. The apartment gets super warm so I would recommend going during the summer.

  • Good – Mohamed from Egypt – 27 September 2024 (8/10)

    Clean

What could be improved: Room without fan or air-condition

  • Good – Mohamed from Egypt – 26 September 2024 (8/10)

    Clean

What could be improved: Hot weather no fan

  • A calm and quiet area, the studio could get a little more love. – Katarzyna from Netherlands – 18 June 2024 (7/10)

I rented a nice one-person studio that technically had everything needed to survive. There is a shop close by, walking distance to city center, good tram connections. Most importantly the area is really quiet, even on weekends, so you can sleep with the windows open.

What could be improved: My stay was longer than a week but no one offered to change the towels, clean, or inform me how to put away trash. There were also no extra trash bags. The studio was not entirely clean, the kettle was burned on the inside and it smelled when cooking water. The whole studio could use a deep cleaning. It takes up to 5 min to lock/open the door with the automatic lock system, it was also broken a few times.

  • Cosy studio nice to stay in it – Sattar from Egypt – 1 April 2024 (6/10)

    – The location was not far from HBF and the room was spotless and cozy.
place have kitchen but have the basic stuff for kitchen

What could be improved: – The TV wasn't working, and there wasn't anything for hospitality there, no ( Suger, salt, pepper, even tea packet or some instant coffee, or cattle)
    – when we called the host to resolve the TV problem he told us he would contact the technician and never called us back nor fix it

  • Very good – Malte from Germany – 26 March 2024 (8/10)

Good location just a few stops by tram away from the center and the Völkerschlachtdenkmal.
    Spacious and orderly apartment.
Access to building and apartment by door code worked like a charm; communication was very clear.

What could be improved: Only a sliding door separating bathroom and main room.
Some water leaks onto bathroom floor when showering.

  • Cozy stay in a safe environment – Klawdia from United Kingdom – 18 December 2023 (7/10)

It was in 20 minutes walking distance to the Christmas market which is located in the Old Town. Konsum, a grocery store, is located just around the corner on the other side of the street. Two tram stations between the house, both in five minutes walking distance. 15 minutes ride time to the main station. It was good to have all the kitchen appliances although I didn’t use them all.

What could be improved: The skirting board next to the bathroom door was broken, as well as the ceramic hob surface. There was also a stain on the rug. Ideally the cushions need to be replaced as they were uncomfortable. The internet connection was a bit slow and useless when I tried to post stories on IG.

  • Easy going – Hang from Netherlands – 5 December 2023 (7/10)

Supportive host, nice design, good location. Suitable for an easy going stay.

What could be improved: When we arrived, the whole apartment was nicely cleaned except the bed (we found quite some hair in different colors on the linen). Luckily the host was very supportive and provided us clean bed linen to change. The rest was good.

  • Very good – Frances from Australia – 3 June 2023 (8/10)

    Good location

What could be improved: Was a bit stuffy

  • Good – Edita from Lithuania – 8 May 2023 (7/10)

What could be improved: pillows an shower door should be changed.
