You know how sometimes you book a 3-star and mentally prepare for disappointment? Well, that 8.5 rating isn’t just inflated reviews from people’s moms. The location alone makes this worth considering – you’re literally in Mitte, which means you can stumble back from the bars around Gottschedstraße without paying for a taxi (trust me, your future hungover self will thank you).

What really won me over was how they’ve nailed the small stuff that most places completely ignore. That Nespresso machine isn’t some sad, broken contraption held together with hope – it actually works, and honestly, having decent coffee in your room when you’re jet-lagged is basically priceless. The SmartTV thing might sound gimmicky, but after walking around Leipzig’s cobblestones all day, being able to collapse and scroll through Netflix without fighting some ancient remote control felt like luxury. The jungle theme could’ve gone really wrong (I was half-expecting plastic vines and fake parrots), but they kept it subtle – more like tasteful green accents and plant-inspired art rather than full-on rainforest café vibes.

Here’s what I wish someone had told me before I stayed there: Nordplatz itself is pretty quiet, especially compared to the chaos around the Hauptbahnhof, but you’re still close enough to walk to the good stuff. The tram connections are solid if you want to venture out to Plagwitz or catch something at the Gewandhaus. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this area – there’s street parking, but it fills up fast, and you know how Germans feel about parking violations. The check-in was refreshingly normal (no weird kiosks or apps that don’t work), and the staff actually seemed to know the neighborhood when I asked about late-night food options. I mean, it’s not going to blow your mind or anything, but for what you pay, you’re getting a clean, comfortable base in a genuinely good location without any nasty surprises. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

  Die Lage der Unterkunft ist ideal – eine Strassenbahnhaltestelle direkt vor der Tür. Das Appartement ist sehr liebevoll und praktisch eingerichtet, sauber und trotz Lage im Souterrain sehr gemütlich, wenn auch die Beleuchtung etwas heller sein könnte. Wir haben uns trotzdem wirklich wohlgefühlt.
  
  What could be improved: Es war nicht ganz einfach, an den Schlüssel zu kommen, bei dem Zahlenschloss am Briefkasten für die Code – Eingabe waren die Zahlen schon sehr abgegriffen und schwer lesbar und der Briefkasten war nicht mehr der appetitlichste.
