You know what? I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first pulled up to FeWo Rehbach on Rehbacher Anger – honestly, the address made it sound like it might be in the middle of nowhere. But here’s the thing about this little corner of Hartmannsdorf-Knautnaundorf: it’s actually perfectly positioned if you want to experience Leipzig without dealing with all the city center chaos. The apartment sits in this quiet residential area where you can actually hear birds in the morning instead of traffic, but you’re still only about 15 minutes from Leipzig’s Altstadt by tram. I mean, the S1 line runs pretty regularly, and there’s decent parking right outside – which, let’s be honest, is worth its weight in gold when you’re hauling luggage around.

What really struck me about this place is how it manages to feel both practical and welcoming at the same time. The ground floor setup means no wrestling suitcases up narrow German staircases (you’ll thank me for mentioning this), and the space itself has that lived-in comfort that vacation rentals sometimes miss. The kitchen actually has everything you need – not just the bare minimum – so you can grab groceries from the nearby Rewe and make a proper breakfast before heading into the city. The whole neighborhood has this authentic residential vibe where you’ll see locals walking their dogs and heading to work, which I find way more interesting than staying in some sterile hotel district. Plus, if you’re into green spaces, the area around here connects to some nice walking paths that locals use for their evening strolls.

What surprises most people is how well this location works as a base for exploring beyond just Leipzig proper. You’re positioned perfectly for day trips to places like Halle or even Dresden if you’re ambitious, and the regional transport connections are actually quite good from this side of the city. The hosts clearly know what they’re doing – check-in was smooth, the place was spotless, and they left those little touches that show they actually care about your stay. I’ll be straight with you though: this isn’t a fancy hotel with a concierge and room service. It’s a comfortable, well-run apartment rental that gives you space to spread out and experience Leipzig like you’re temporarily living there rather than just passing through. For the price point and that 9-star rating, it makes perfect sense – sometimes the best travel experiences happen when you step away from the tourist trail just enough to breathe.

  Sehr schöne Ferienwohnung, sehr nette Gastgeber, uns wurde alles erklärt und gezeigt.
  Alles war sehr sauber und gepflegt. Sitzmöglichkeiten im Garten, der Hahn Gisbert mit seinen Hennen auch sehr freundlich (-: die Eier waren sehr lecker, danke nochmals. Ich würde diese FeWo jederzeit wieder buchen.
