The whole area has this quiet, residential vibe that’s refreshingly different from Leipzig’s busier districts. You’re still only about 15 minutes by tram into the city center, but honestly, after a day of sightseeing, coming back to this peaceful corner felt like a mini retreat.

The rooms themselves are pretty straightforward – think clean, functional apartment-style setups rather than fancy hotel frills. I actually appreciated that approach because it felt more like staying at a friend’s place than some sterile chain hotel. The kitchenette was properly stocked (not just for show), which saved me money on breakfast since there’s a decent Edeka just down the road. What really sold me, though, was stepping out in the morning and seeing families already heading to the lake with their bikes and picnic baskets. The whole neighborhood has this lived-in authenticity that you don’t get in touristy areas. Sure, it’s not going to win any design awards – the furnishings are a bit dated and the Wi-Fi can be spotty – but the essentials are solid. Good water pressure, quiet nights (well, except for the occasional duck chorus from the lake), and surprisingly comfortable beds.

Here’s the thing about this place – it’s perfect if you want to experience Leipzig like someone who actually lives here, not just passes through. The lake is genuinely beautiful, especially during those long German summer evenings when half the neighborhood seems to be out walking or cycling the paths around the water. I found myself spending way more time just wandering the area than I’d planned. The 7.6 rating makes sense to me – it’s not luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense. If you’re the type who needs a concierge and room service, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want a clean, affordable base near one of Leipzig’s hidden gems, with easy access to both nature and the city… well, I’d definitely book it again. Just bring a good book for those quiet evenings by the water – trust me on this one.

  Uns hat alles sehr gut gefallen. Die Unterkunft ist eine Wohnung in einer Siedlung mit allem was man benötigt. Die kleine Küche mit Spülmaschine ließe keine Wünsche offen, auch wenn wir nicht gekocht haben. Die Vermieterin ist sehr freundlich und es lief alles unkompliziert ab. Das wir die vorab ausgefüllten Dokumente nicht via Booking senden konnten, da Booking keine Anhänge übermitteln, war kein Beinbruch, denn wir konnten das sofort unkompliziert via Photo erledigen – also gar kein Problem. Wir werden sehr gerne wiederkommen, denn für uns passte alles gut.

  Tolle Ferienwohnung, hat alles was man braucht. Sehr nettes Team und hilfsbereite Nachbarschaft. Ideal für Stadterkundungen oder Touren ins Umland, in 2 min zu Fuß an der Tram, Aldi und Rewe direkt um die Ecke und der See ist auch fußläufig zu erreichen. Gute Anbindung an die Autobahn und ein kostenloser Parkplatz direkt vor dem Haus ist auch kein Problem. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen gerne wieder.
