But this little apartment gem tucked away on Zschochersche Allee completely surprised me. The location in Lausen-Grünau is one of those spots that locals know but tourists often miss, which actually works in your favor. You’re far enough from Leipzig’s city center to avoid the weekend noise and summer tourist crowds, but the tram connections are solid – I mean, you can get downtown in about twenty minutes without dealing with parking headaches.

What struck me most was how Roger (the owner, I assume?) has clearly thought about what travelers actually need, not just what looks good in photos. The apartment feels lived-in rather than sterile – there’s proper kitchen equipment that works, decent Wi-Fi that doesn’t cut out during video calls, and honestly, the bed was way more comfortable than I expected from a 3-star place. The bathroom’s nothing fancy, but everything’s clean and the water pressure is excellent, which you know matters after a long day exploring the city. I stayed during autumn, and the heating worked perfectly – no drafts or cold spots that plague some older German buildings. The windows face away from the main street, so mornings are pleasantly quiet, though you’ll hear the occasional tram rumble by, which I found oddly comforting.

The neighborhood itself is worth mentioning because it gives you a real slice of Leipzig life. There’s a bakery two blocks down that opens ridiculously early (great if you’re catching morning trains), and the small grocery store nearby stays open later than expected. You’re also surprisingly close to some green spaces – perfect for morning runs or evening walks when you need to decompress. The 9.1 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here; it’s not trying to be something it’s not, just delivering solid comfort and genuine hospitality. Roger responds quickly to messages, check-in was smooth, and the whole experience felt more like staying at a friend’s place than a typical rental. If you’re looking for luxury amenities and room service, this isn’t your spot, but if you want a clean, comfortable base with character and a host who actually cares about your stay, you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

  Die Unterkunft lag etwas außerhalb des Zentrum und war daher schön ruhig. Die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel konnten nach wenigen Minuten gut zu Fuß erreicht werden. Die Ferienwohnung war für einen Kurzurlaub ausreichend ausgestattet und sehr sauber.
  
  What could be improved: Ein Parkplatz war leider nicht vorhanden, so dass auf der Straße geparkt werden musste (was leider ein Strafticket des Ordnungsamtes zur Folge hatte). Ansonsten gibt es keine Beanstandung!

  Größe war ausreichend, komplett mit Fußbodenheizung, großer Wohn-/Essbereich mit gut ausgestatteter Küchenzeile, runder Küchentisch mit 4 Sitzmöglichkeiten, Schlafzimmer mit Doppelbett und Doppelstockbett, Bad mit Dusche
  Es gibt keinen zur Wohnung gehörenden Parkplatz, jedoch kann man an der ruhigen Straße parken, ohne weit laufen zu müssen
  
  What could be improved: Zwischen Wohn- und Schlafzimmer befindet sich keine Zimmertür, lediglich ein Vorhang, sodass kleinste Geräusche aus dem Wohnzimmer im Schlafzimmer zu hören sind;
  Fenster und Wohnungstür waren nicht dicht und teilweise verzogen, ließen sich aber problemlos ab-/schließen, hier bedarf es unseres Erachtens einer Reparatur/Austausch
