You know what surprised me most about Ferienapartment-Leipzig-Plagwitz? It’s tucked away on Zschochersche Straße in this absolutely fascinating neighborhood that most tourists completely miss – and honestly, that’s part of its charm. Plagwitz used to be Leipzig’s industrial heart, all old cotton mills and factories, but now it’s this creative hub where you’ll find art galleries squeezed between indie cafés and musicians practicing in converted warehouses. The apartment itself sits right in the thick of this transformation, so you get to experience Leipzig like an actual resident rather than just another tourist schlepping between the usual sights.

The place has that comfortable, lived-in feeling that a lot of hotels try to fake but never quite nail. I mean, it’s a 3-star spot so don’t expect marble bathrooms or anything, but everything works well and the space actually makes sense – you can cook a proper meal if you want (the local Rewe is literally a five-minute walk), or just collapse on the couch after wandering around all day. The 8.8 rating isn’t inflated either; whoever runs this place clearly cares about the details that matter, like having enough power outlets near the bed and blackout curtains that actually block light. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – even though you’re in the city, Plagwitz doesn’t have that constant traffic hum that keeps you awake in more central locations.

Here’s the thing about staying in Plagwitz though – you need to embrace the fact that you’re not in Leipzig’s postcard center. The Christmas Market and St. Thomas Church are about a 20-minute tram ride away, but honestly? Some of my best Leipzig memories happened within walking distance of this apartment. There’s this incredible street art scene along Karl-Heine-Kanal (the old industrial canal that runs through the neighborhood), and the Plagwitzer Brücke area has become this buzzing nightlife spot that feels way more authentic than the tourist bars downtown. Plus, if you’re into that whole “industrial heritage meets modern creativity” vibe, you’re basically staying in the epicenter of it. The only minor downside is that some of the streets around here are still a bit rough around the edges – nothing unsafe, just that transitional neighborhood aesthetic where a trendy café might sit next to a slightly run-down building. But that’s part of what makes Plagwitz interesting, you know? It’s a neighborhood that’s still becoming something, and this apartment gives you a front-row seat to watch it happen.

  What could be improved: Parken am Tag schlecht. Ab Freitag Abend bis Montag früh jedoch super. Deshalb Taxi empfehlenswert wenn man einen Parkplatz hat und diesen behalten will.

  Die Ferienwohnung ist mit der Tram super zuerreichen. Haltestelle fast vorm Haus. Die Wohnung ist in der 4. Etage mit dem Aufzug .Die Wohnung selbst ist mit Küchenzeile ,Schrankwand, Sitzmöbeln und Bad ausgestattet. Alles ist sehr sauber und gepflegt .Der Vermieter ist ein hilfsbereiter und freundlicher Herr.
  Meinen nächsten Aufenthalt werde ich garatiert wieder dort verbringen.
