The location is what really got me first. You’re literally in the heart of Leipzig’s Mitte district, which means you can stumble out the front door and be at the Old Town Hall in about three minutes. I mean, Neumarkt is where everything happens – there’s this constant buzz of people heading to the market or grabbing coffee, but somehow the apartment itself stays surprisingly quiet. The building’s got that solid German construction thing going on, so you don’t hear every footstep from upstairs. And here’s the kicker – they actually give you a garage spot, which if you’ve ever tried parking in Leipzig’s city center, you’ll know is basically like finding gold. Most places around there, you’re circling blocks for twenty minutes looking for street parking.

Inside, it’s what I’d call genuinely cozy without being cramped. The apartment has this lived-in feel that’s way better than those sterile hotel rooms that all look identical. You’ve got a proper kitchen where you can actually cook (not just heat up instant noodles), and the living area feels like someone’s home rather than a rental property. The windows face toward the square, so mornings are pretty lively – you’ll wake up to the sounds of the city getting started, which I actually loved. There’s something about hearing Leipzig come alive that beats any alarm clock. The wifi is solid too, which matters if you’re trying to get any work done or just want to figure out where you’re exploring next. I spent a good chunk of one evening just planning day trips to Dresden and Berlin from the comfort of their couch. Oh, and the shower – honestly, the water pressure is better than what I have at home, and it gets hot fast. These details might sound boring, but they’re exactly what makes or breaks a stay, especially if you’re there for more than just a quick weekend.

What really sealed the deal for me was how easy everything felt. Check-in was smooth, the hosts clearly know what they’re doing, and you’re walking distance from basically everything worth seeing in Leipzig. The Gewandhaus is right there, St. Thomas Church where Bach worked is a pleasant stroll away, and if you want to grab dinner, you’ve got options from traditional Saxon food to modern stuff all within a few blocks. I’d definitely come back – actually, I’m already thinking about it for when the Christmas markets open up, because being right on Neumarkt during that season must be incredible.

  Very well equipped apartment in the centre of Leipzig, only a short walk to the main square. We we are a family of 4 and the property was perfect for our 2 night stay in Leipzig. Parking is in an underground garage next door and included in the price. We had an issue with reimbursement but the owner was very helpful and followed up on our behalf immediately to ensure reimursement.
