Look, I’ll be honest – when I first climbed up to this attic apartment on Arndtstraße, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The building’s got that classic Leipzig charm (you know, the kind where you’re wondering if the stairs will hold up), but once you actually get inside this place, it’s a pleasant surprise. The sloped ceilings give it character, and there’s something really satisfying about being tucked up under the roofline in a proper German neighborhood. You’re right in Süd – which locals just call the south district – and it’s honestly one of those areas where you feel like you’re living in Leipzig rather than just visiting it.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, even though you’re not stuck out in the suburbs. The apartment faces the right direction to catch decent light during the day, and the windows actually open properly (always a gamble with older buildings here). The furnishing is pretty straightforward – nothing fancy, but everything works, and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without tripping over it constantly. I mean, it’s an attic, so you’ll duck your head in a few spots if you’re tall, but that’s part of the charm. The kitchen setup is more functional than I expected, which matters if you’re staying more than a couple nights and want to grab groceries from the Rewe down the street instead of eating out every meal.

Here’s the thing about this location – you’re actually positioned really well for exploring the city without dealing with tourist crowds every time you step outside. Connewitz is a short bike ride away if you want that student vibe and cheaper drinks, and getting into the city center is straightforward on the tram. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle on this street (typical Leipzig residential area), but there’s usually something within a block or two if you’re patient. The neighborhood has that lived-in feel where people walk their dogs in the evening and you’ll hear kids playing in the courtyards. It’s not going to win any design awards, and the Wi-Fi occasionally has moments where it needs encouragement, but for the price point it delivers what you need. Perfect for travelers who want a real slice of Leipzig life rather than a sanitized hotel experience.

  Schlafzimmer und Schlafmöglichkeiten im Wohnzimmer waren prima! Balkon war super. Perfekt für ein Glas Wein am Abend. Überhaupt war es sehr gemütlich und man kann mit der Familie zusammen sein da Wohn-, Küchen- und Essbereich offen gestaltet sich.
  Gute Lage. Mit dem Bus ist man in wenigen Minuten im Zentrum.

  What could be improved: Leider muss ich meine allererste negative Bewertung ever für diese eigentlich schöne Wohnung schreiben.
  Es war dreckig, hat gestunken und die Spülmaschine war noch mit dreckigem Geschirr voll. Nach Anruf bei der Kontaktnummer wurde mir gesagt, dass sie dafür nicht zuständig sind und mir wurde eine weitere Nummer gesendet an die ich mich gefälligst wenden soll. Und das nachdem ich sie ein paarmal nicht erreicht hatte.
  Es wurde dann allerdings zügig jemand zum putzen geschickt – leider war die Wohnung danach immer noch dreckig, der Kühlschrank hat gestunken, kurz: sich wohlzufühlen war so leider nicht möglich. Ich empfehle eine Grundreinigung und ein anderes Verständnis als Anbieter.
  Entschuldigt hat sich auch niemand.
  Und das obwohl die Wohnung und Lage eigentlich gut sind – für diesen Preis wirklich eine Frechheit. Leider.
