Exklusives Leipzig City Apartment Aurora Overview
Look, I’ve stayed in my share of Leipzig apartments, and honestly? Aurora on Magazingasse just gets it right. When you first walk up to number 4, you’re in this perfect pocket of Mitte that feels residential but you’re literally minutes from everything that matters. I mean, you can hear the city humming around you, but it’s not that overwhelming tourist-trap chaos you get closer to the market square.
The apartment itself — well, they call it “exclusive” and normally I’d roll my eyes at that, but it actually lives up to the hype. The space has this clean, modern thing going on without feeling sterile, you know? What really struck me was how much thought went into the details. The kitchen actually has proper knives (rare in vacation rentals, trust me), and the shower has decent water pressure, which if you’ve traveled much in older German buildings, you’ll appreciate. There’s this lovely morning light that comes through the main windows, and I found myself having coffee there every day just watching the neighborhood wake up. The Wi-Fi is solid too — I was working remotely and had zero issues with video calls.
Here’s what I really love about this location though: you’re on this quiet little street that most tourists never find, but you can walk to Thomaskirche in about eight minutes, and the main shopping area is maybe five minutes the other direction. There’s a fantastic little café called Kaffeerösterei just around the corner where locals actually hang out (not just tourists Instagramming their cappuccinos), and honestly, that became my morning routine. The building itself is well-maintained — none of that sketchy entrance situation you sometimes get with apartment rentals — and check-in was refreshingly straightforward. Parking can be a bit tricky if you’re driving, but there’s street parking nearby and honestly, you won’t need a car once you’re settled in. The S-Bahn connections are excellent from this part of Mitte, so day trips are totally doable. I did notice some construction noise one morning around 8 AM, but it wasn’t excessive and Leipzig’s generally pretty good about reasonable hours. You’re getting that authentic neighborhood feel without sacrificing any convenience, which is sort of the holy grail of city stays, isn’t it?

Super Lage. Tolles Appartement. Es ist alles da, was man braucht. Unkomplizierte Kommunikation und Check- in und -out.
What could be improved: Abends / nachts leider bei geöffnetem Fenster doch etwas laute Straße (die sehr ruhig anmutet).Great place for a couple or small family – Susan from United States – 16 September 2024 (9/10)
This is a great place and I highly recommend. Spacious, clean and right near the city square. Attractive furnishings, and everything that needs to work did work.
What could be improved: Getting in was a bit of a hassle. I totally "get" the conflicts between being on hand (or having to travel) to let visitors into a rental. It's a pain. This apartment is in between two businesses, and if either is open you can skip the first locked door (you probably aren't supposed to do this) and get to the elevator. But the owner can't count on that, so has an electronic way to open the outside door when you call. Then there is the door to the apartment which is of course locked. Ideally, the owner can unlock that while on the phone with you, but it didn't work in our case. Seems like a lock box could serve that function as a backup? Anyway, too much time on the phone, but still better than waiting on the sidewalk (which we have done many times elsewhere!) for someone to come unlock a building.Exceptional – Ernesto from Italy – 29 August 2024 (10/10)
