I mean, the 8.2 rating makes sense once you’re inside. The lobby smells like that subtle, expensive hotel scent (you know the one), and check-in was refreshingly quick, even during what seemed like a busy conference week. The staff switched between German and English effortlessly, which was honestly a relief since my German is… well, let’s just say it’s a work in progress. My room faced away from the street, so no traffic noise – something you definitely want to ask for if you’re a light sleeper like me.

What really sold me on this place was the attention to practical details that most hotels completely miss. The parking situation is actually reasonable (rare for Germany, trust me), and the breakfast spread – while not groundbreaking – had proper German bread and decent coffee, plus they kept it stocked even during the late morning rush when half the hotel seemed to be heading out to trade shows. Speaking of which, if you’re here for business at the Messe, you’re golden – it’s practically next door, which explains why I kept running into people in the elevator carrying those telltale conference bags. But here’s the thing: even with all the business travelers, the place never felt stuffy or overly corporate. The common areas had this relaxed energy, and I actually saw families with kids mixing with the suit-and-tie crowd without any awkwardness. The neighborhood itself is pretty quiet – mostly residential with a few local spots where you can grab a beer if you don’t feel like venturing into the city center. There’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that feels more like a well-run local gem than another cookie-cutter chain hotel trying too hard to impress everyone and ending up impressing no one.

  The Restaurant next door, where breakfast was served, was just phenomenal. Food was delicious, service very attentive, ambience very special. Room was perfectly clean, very generous bathroom with rainshower. They called me to ask for my breakfast preference.
  
  What could be improved: Nothing really. The location is not very central to Leipzig, but the tram station is a 10min walk away, so the center maybe 20mins.

  Beautiful hotel situated near the highway. Public transport however was not far away so the center of the city could be easily reached. Very friendly staff. The room was clean and modern. Breakfast was more than ok. The hotel also has a very good restaurant.

  What could be improved: Had to pay for the parking, but everybody parked freely in the hotel’s private parking area, so later at night when we returned, there was no parking place, and anyway they do not close the gates.

  We wanted a location close to the motorway so this was perfect for us. The deluxe room was a great size and meant that we could really relax on arrival.
  
  What could be improved: We had an evening check in and when we arrived there was nobody at the front desk. The restaurant next door is owned by the same people so popped over there to get assistance but it would be useful to have a sign at reception to instruct people of what to do if nobody is there on guest's arrival.
