You’re literally a two-minute walk from the Opera House, and I kept stumbling across these little cafés and bookshops that clearly cater more to locals than visitors.

The apartment itself has that lived-in feeling that’s way better than sterile hotel rooms. The kitchen actually works (I made coffee there every morning – decent setup), and the whole place feels like someone’s cool aunt lives there part-time. Sure, it’s a 3-star spot, so don’t expect marble bathrooms or whatever, but the beds are comfortable and the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every five minutes. What really sold me was how quiet it gets at night – Gottschedstraße isn’t one of those streets where drunk people stumble around at 2 AM, but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that awkward small talk while you’re standing there with your luggage looking disheveled.

Here’s the thing though – this isn’t the kind of place where you’ll get room service or someone to carry your bags upstairs. It’s more like borrowing a friend’s apartment, which honestly I prefer when I’m trying to actually experience a city rather than hide from it. The neighborhood has this authentic energy where you’ll hear people speaking German on their way to work, not just other tourists asking where the nearest currywurst stand is (though there are some excellent ones nearby, just saying). Plus, parking isn’t completely impossible around there – I saw actual spots on the side streets, which in Leipzig city center is basically a miracle. The 7.7 rating makes total sense to me; it’s solidly good without trying to be something it’s not, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

  Estuve solo una noche, y todo ok!

  Die Nähe zum Zentrum in Kombination mit dem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist der größte Pluspunkt für dieses Apartment, aber bei weitem nicht der einzige. Wir wurden von der Gastgeberin freundlich begrüßt und haben kurz alles wichtige erklärt bekommen. Die Wohnung war sehr sauber und mit dem wichtigsten ausgestattet. Über die Qualität der vorhandenen Küchengeräte können wir leider keine Aussage treffen. Im Bad findet man eine Dusche, eine Toilette und ein Waschbecken, für ersteres wurden uns Handtücher bereitgestellt. Die Betten sind gemütlich, auch das zusätzliche Klappbett für einen dritten Gast war mir völlig ausreichend. Der Balkon liegt ruhig an der Rückseite des Gebäudes und erlaubt entspannte Abende bei einem Glas (oder Fläschchen) Wein. Die Lage ist, wie anfangs erwähnt, für den Preis fantastisch. Mit den 2 Tram-Stationen in der Nähe erreicht man alle wichtigen Orte in der Stadt in höchstens 30 Minuten und den Hauptbahnhof in nur 10 Minuten.

  What could be improved: The towels were very stinky. They made your skin stink after your shower. Smelled like they were left wet for days before drying. Very scratchy. And only 2 towels, so no hand towel. Surfaces in bathroom were dirty, especially windowsill where towels were left for us. Actually a dead bug under towels (photo). There were dirty dishes in the dishwasher. We didn't use dishes as we came in late and left early, but we looked everywhere and my husband found them. TV is tiny and is on top of refrigerator; power cords daisy chained to multiple extension cords seemed to be a fire hazard.

  The communication with the host was really easy. Flat is located in a 30 minutes walking distance from the main station, easy to reach. We liked the white minimalistic style of the flat. Very nice price-quality rate. It was well-equipped, we haven't miss anything. And the view from the window into the inner yard is very serene.
  
  What could be improved: If I could improve 1 thing, I would change the bedding – a firmer cushion, new blanket. But again, it was a really nice price-quality rate so I am not complaining 🙂
