This top-floor apartment on Paußnitzstraße sits in one of those gorgeous pre-war buildings that Leipzig does so well, where they’ve somehow managed to keep all the original character while making everything actually work for modern life.

The moment you walk in, there’s this immediate sense of space that you just don’t get in typical hotel rooms. The oak parquet floors (they call it Eicheparkett, and trust me, it’s the real deal) stretch throughout the apartment, and they’ve got that slightly worn patina that tells you this isn’t some rushed renovation job. The two bedrooms are genuinely separate spaces – not those weird hotel “suites” where everything’s basically one room with a curtain – and then there’s this bonus room that works perfectly as an office if you’re traveling for work. I actually ended up using it more than I expected, especially since the workspace setup is thoughtfully done, not just a tiny desk shoved in a corner.

What really makes this place special though is how it feels like staying in someone’s actual home rather than a sterile accommodation. The fireplace works (I tested it on a chilly October evening), and the balcony – well, it’s not huge, but it’s got decent views over the neighborhood and catches morning light beautifully. The Schleußig area itself is one of those Leipzig districts that locals love but tourists often miss, sort of southwest of the city center where you get tree-lined streets and that residential vibe without being completely cut off from everything. You’re maybe fifteen minutes by tram to the Hauptbahnhof, and there’s actually decent parking right there, which anyone who’s tried to park in Leipzig’s Innenstadt will appreciate. The building can get a bit echo-y in the stairwell – it’s that old German construction – but once you’re inside the apartment, it’s surprisingly quiet. I mean, you’ll hear some street noise during rush hour, but nothing that interfered with sleep. The 9.4 rating makes complete sense once you’ve been there a few days; it’s those little details like having proper wine glasses, a coffee setup that doesn’t involve those terrible pod machines, and enough closet space that you can actually unpack properly.   Die Ausstattung der Wohnung war super. Es war alles vorhanden was man brauchte. Der Kontakt zum Vermieter war unkompliziert und sehr nett. In der Nähe waren die Straßénbahn und Bushaltestellen, so dass man schnell in der Innenstadt war.
  Rundherum war eine Gartenanlage mit einem schönen Spielplatz, wenn man mit Kindern unterwegs wäre, sehr vorteilhaft. Für uns gab es nichts zu meckern

  Sehr schöne, große und komfortable Wohnung, zentral gelegen in der Nähe des Klara Zeltin Parks, dennoch ruhig. Die Ausstattung in der Wohnung war sehr gut. Bei gutem Wetter kann man vom Balkon aus eine schöne Aussicht auf eine Kleingartenanlage genießen. Auch unser Hund war ohne Aufpreis sehr willkommen.
  Insgesamt ein sehr gelungener Aufenthalt, den wir gerne wiederholen wollen.

  Wir haben sehr sehr spontan buchen müssen und wir haben abends halb zehn noch anrufen müssen, um am nächsten Tag anreisen zu können. Alles überhaupt kein Problem. Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen und konnten sehr spontan mit 2 Hunden anreisen. Die Wohnung ist ein Traum. Sehr sehr gemütlich, sehr sehr sauber, ruhige Lage. Auch die Umgebung gut geeignet für Hunde. Wir konnten unkompliziert eine weitere Person dazu buchen. Die Wohnung ist absolut ruhig, sehr komfortabel ausgestattet und mit absolutem Wohlfühlfaktor, mehr geht nicht. Sollten wir wieder einmal nach Leipzig reisen, dann unbedingt dorthin. Herzlichen Dank für die gute Zeit. Vermieter immer erreichbar und ansprechbar.
