It’s actually tucked away on this quiet residential street in Neustadt-Neuschönefeld, which honestly feels like discovering Leipzig’s best-kept secret. I mean, when you first pull up to 14 Gabelsbergerstrasse, it doesn’t scream “hotel” – it’s more like stumbling into a neighborhood where actual Leipzigers live their daily lives. The building itself has that solid German apartment block vibe, nothing flashy, but you get the sense it’s been standing strong for decades and will outlast us all.

The whole setup works brilliantly if you’re tired of cookie-cutter hotel experiences. These are proper apartments, not just rooms with a mini-fridge shoved in the corner. I’m talking full kitchens where you can actually cook (and trust me, after a few days of restaurant meals, you’ll appreciate being able to grab groceries from the little Edeka down the street and make your own breakfast). The furnishings are clean and functional – think IKEA meets German efficiency rather than luxury resort, but honestly, that’s part of the charm. Everything just works, from the surprisingly good WiFi to the washing machine that became my best friend during a longer stay. The soundproofing is decent too, though you’ll catch the occasional tram rumbling by, which I found oddly comforting after a while.

What really sold me on this place was the location – and I don’t mean that in the usual “conveniently located” marketing speak way. Neustadt-Neuschönefeld sits just far enough from Leipzig’s touristy center that you feel like you’re experiencing real city life, but close enough that you can hop on the S-Bahn and be in the Altstadt in about fifteen minutes. There’s this fantastic little Turkish bakery two blocks over that becomes your morning ritual, and honestly, some of the best people-watching happens at the bus stop right outside. The neighborhood gets busy during rush hour (around 7-9 AM and 5-7 PM), but otherwise it’s refreshingly peaceful. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle during the day, but evenings and weekends it’s manageable – just don’t expect hotel valet service or anything fancy like that. The 8.7 rating makes total sense once you realize what you’re getting: solid, no-nonsense accommodation that lets you live like a temporary local rather than just another tourist passing through.

  Das Apartment war sehr geräumig und gemütlich eingerichtet. Ich habe mich sofort wohl gefühlt. Sehr großer Eingangsbereich mit Wohn- bzw. Schlafbereich, großzügiges Bad. Rewe zum Einkaufen direkt in der Nähe.

  Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Straßenbahn sind nah. In die Innenstadt kann man gut zu Fuß laufen (oder 2 Stationen mit der Straßenbahn fahren). Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich und kümmern sich schnell bei möglichen Problemen!

  Zastávka tramvaje blízko ubytování, perfektní dostupnost do centra. Obchod přes silnici od ubytování. Veškeré vybavení, sprcha i vana, pračka, plně vybavená kuchyně, pohodlné spaní, prostorné.

  Wohnung mit allem ausgestattet. 15-20 Min zu Fuss im Zentrum. Supermarkt gleich nebenan. Parkplatz sehr praktisch. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.
  
  What could be improved: Vielleicht stört es, dass das Fenster auf Höhe Fussgänger liegt und man sich ein wenig ausgestellt fühlt. Zudem könnte es im Sommer ziemlich heiss werden, da es nur ein Fenster hat zum Lüften. Für uns war es jedoch kein Problem. Es hat Vorhänge und einen Rolladen.

  Das Apartment liegt in einer ruhigen Seiten Strasse aber trotzdem sehr zentral. Die Nähe des Supermarktes ist sehr praktisch. Der Zugang zum Gebäude und der Wohnung bekommt man mit einem Code. Man braucht also keine Schlüssel mit sich rum zu tragen. Der Gastgeber ist gut zu erreichen und steht bei Fragen immer zur Verfügung. Der Parkplatz im Hof war für meine Situation etwas zu eng, ist aber für einen normalen PKW sicher eine tolles Angebot. In der Strasse bekommt man aber auch immer ein Platz. Die Wohnung ist sehr großzügig ausgestattet und extrem sauber. Alles in allem ein perfekter Ort für seinen Aufenthalt in Leipzig. Würde ich jederzeit wieder buchen.
  
  What could be improved: Die Beleuchtung hätte in der ganzen Wohnung nach meinem Geschmack etwas heller sein können. Das ist aber nur eine Bemerkung und keine Bemängelung. Dieses wäre für mich kein Grund die Wohnung nicht aus zu wählen.

  Gemütliche, großzügige Wohnung. Ließ sich gut abdunkeln. Bequeme Couch und zentrale Lage.
