Best Western Plus Royal Suites Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Best Western Plus Royal Suites, you immediately notice this isn’t your typical chain hotel experience. The lobby has this refined, almost boutique feel that honestly surprised me — I mean, you expect decent service from Best Western, but this four-star property in Leipzig’s Mitte district really steps it up. The staff greeted me in both German and English without missing a beat, and there’s something about the way they handle check-in that feels genuinely welcoming rather than just efficient.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s the thing about Wintergartenstraße — you’re literally in the heart of everything that matters in Leipzig. I could walk to the historic market square in about ten minutes, and the famous St. Thomas Church (where Bach worked, if you’re into that sort of thing) is practically around the corner. What I really appreciated was how quiet the street itself is, despite being so central. You know how some city center hotels can be noisy? Well, this location somehow manages to give you all the access without the constant traffic sounds. No wonder couples rate the location so highly — it’s perfect for those romantic evening strolls through Leipzig’s beautifully lit old town.

The Suites

The rooms here are actually suites, which becomes obvious the moment you step inside. There’s proper separation between the sleeping area and a little sitting space, plus enough room to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. The decor strikes this nice balance between modern comfort and subtle German elegance — nothing flashy, but everything feels thoughtfully chosen. I particularly liked the bathroom setup, which had both a shower and bathtub, something you don’t always get even in upscale properties. The beds are genuinely comfortable too, not just hotel-marketing comfortable.

Breakfast & Dining

Breakfast at Best Western Plus Royal Suites is where they really shine, honestly. The buffet covers all the German classics — fresh breads, cold cuts, cheeses — but what impressed me was their attention to different dietary needs. Whether you’re vegetarian, vegan, need halal options, or are dealing with gluten sensitivities, they’ve actually thought it through rather than just throwing together a token selection. The coffee is proper European strong, and they keep everything well-stocked even during busy morning hours. It’s the kind of breakfast that sets you up properly for a day of exploring Leipzig.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets this place apart is how it combines the reliability you expect from an established brand with genuine local character. The private parking is a godsend if you’re driving — finding parking in Leipzig’s center can be a real headache otherwise. But beyond the practical stuff, there’s something about the overall experience that feels more personal than corporate. The location score of 9.1 isn’t just numbers on a website; when you’re staying here, you really feel like you’re experiencing Leipzig rather than just visiting it. It’s that sweet spot where comfort, location, and value actually come together without any major compromises.

Location it’s close to the central Leipzig
Booking.com upgraded my room. So that was perfect room. Breakfast is very nice.

What could be improved: Paying price for parking is ridiculous but safe.

  • Great hotel – James from United Kingdom – 11 April 2025 (8/10)

Easy to find from the train station, just a few minutes walk. Friendly and welcoming staff. Rooms clean, tidy, spacious and well decorated. Comfortable bed. Generous buffer breakfasts, with a wide variety.
Only negative is the noisy tram outside which finish late and start early – ear plugs advised

  • Superb – Yuan from Germany – 20 March 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: Noise from the external public transportation.

  • Interesting hotel – would stay here again. – Allan from United Kingdom – 13 January 2025 (9/10)

Friendly staff and good breakfast selection. Room was spacious and in good condition.

What could be improved: Noisy trams, but not unexpected in a location so close to the railway station.

  • Exc for solo travel – Vanessa from Costa Rica – 9 January 2025 (8/10)

    Location was incredible

What could be improved: I would add a mat in the shower. The plastic floor of the shower is very slippery. Also maybe a bit of more light in the room would have helped as I had to work for a couple of hours

  • Superb – Taukeer from Germany – 31 December 2024 (9/10)

Hotel room, suite was excellent, breakfast very good and perfect location

What could be improved: Check in was bit delayed
