You know what caught me off guard about Arbio I? The name makes it sound all corporate and sterile, but honestly, this place has more character than half the boutique hotels I’ve stayed at. It’s tucked away on Papiermühlstraße in Stötteritz – and before you worry about being stuck in some random suburb, let me tell you, this neighborhood is actually pretty sweet. I mean, you’re about fifteen minutes from Leipzig’s city center, but you get to wake up to tree-lined streets instead of tram bells at 6 AM.

The apartments themselves feel like someone actually lives there, which I guess makes sense since they’re proper apart-hotels. My unit had this great little kitchenette that wasn’t just for show – real coffee machine, decent-sized fridge, even sharp knives (rare in hotel kitchens, trust me). The design leans modern without being cold, lots of clean lines and neutral colors, but they’ve thrown in some warmer touches that keep it from feeling like an IKEA showroom. What really sold me was the attention to details you don’t expect – blackout curtains that actually block light, shower pressure that doesn’t make you question your life choices, and honestly, the Wi-Fi was faster than what I have at home. The 7.7 rating feels about right, maybe even a bit conservative. I’d probably bump it up to an 8 if the check-in process was smoother, but the self-service system works fine once you figure it out.

Here’s the thing about staying in Stötteritz – you’re getting a peek at how actual Leipzigers live. There’s this great bakery just down the street where locals queue up for Sunday brunch pastries, and if you walk about ten minutes toward the Pleiße river, you’ll hit some surprisingly nice walking paths that most tourists never see. Parking was a breeze (and free, which in Germany is basically winning the lottery), and when I did venture into the city center, the S-Bahn connection was straightforward enough. The area gets quiet in the evenings – maybe too quiet if you’re looking for nightlife within stumbling distance – but I actually loved coming back to somewhere that felt residential and calm after spending days exploring Leipzig’s busier districts. For families or anyone staying more than a night or two, this setup is actually perfect. You get space to spread out, a proper place to store groceries, and that rare hotel amenity: the feeling that you’re not just passing through, but actually staying somewhere.

  Sehr schöne saubere Unterkunft.
  Lage war ok, kleiner Balkon zum Hof. Küche sehr gut ausgestattet, außer das der Wasserbehälter für die Nespressomaschidne nicht zu finden war.
  
  What could be improved: Preislich sehr hoch. 4 Tage für weit über 800€.
  Auf den ausziehbaren Couches schläft man nicht sehr gut.

  Great location and easy access to transportation into the city center. Very clean and modern. The kitchen was well equipped.
  
  What could be improved: This review is for one night but we actually stayed for 6 nights. Our son lives close by and we were visiting him. My previous review explains some communication problems with the host but otherwise it was a great stay. We would consider staying here again if there was better communication.

  We stayed for 5 days. The apartment was very clean and modern. The kitchen was well equipped and had almost everything we needed during our stay.
  
  What could be improved: Some things that can be improved would be better pillows as the ones in the bedroom offered almost no support. Also, there was no bottle opener in the kitchen. This was a minor inconvenience but would have been a nice addition.
  I think our biggest problem was communicating with the host. In this situation I think we were speaking with a property management office. The woman we spoke with on the phone and exchanged messages with could not understand English or German which caused a big inconvenience for us. We had to pack and move out during our stay so cleaning people could come in. The “host” we spoke with on the phone couldn’t comprehend how ridiculous it was for us to have to move out for cleaning. We were also told there was a locker in the basement for luggage however the basement door was locked and we couldn’t access it.

  Great place for short or long stay. Apartment is easy to reach from train station and city center, just 15min ride with the tram. It’s cozy and warm, bed is really comfy and kitchen is well equipped. Host is very friendly and check in and out was easy. Will definitely stay again on my next visit.

  The place was just not clean , rubbish on the kitchen floor and nasty surprise of old crumbs, dirt and dust when opening the sofa beds and the dirty linen from previous guest was left behind in the bedroom.
  All very basic and simply not acceptable!
