I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to the Arbio I on Lessingstraße, I wasn’t expecting much from the outside. The building’s pretty typical for this part of Mitte, but once you’re inside, it’s actually a completely different story. The “cozy” in the name isn’t just marketing fluff – these apartments genuinely feel like someone’s stylish home rather than a sterile hotel room. The owners clearly put thought into the details, from the quality of the linens to the way the kitchen is stocked with actual useful stuff (you know how most hotel kitchenettes are basically useless? Not here).

What really sold me on this place, though, is how perfectly positioned it is for actually experiencing Leipzig rather than just passing through. You’re literally a five-minute walk from the Gewandhaus, and I mean that – I timed it because I had concert tickets and was paranoid about being late. The location puts you right in the sweet spot where you can walk to pretty much everything that matters in the city center, but you’re not dealing with the tourist crowds that camp out around Markt square. Lessingstraße itself is quiet enough that you can actually sleep with the windows open in summer, which is honestly a luxury in most German city centers. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel – there’s a bakery two blocks over that locals queue up at every morning, and you’ll find yourself doing the same thing by day three.

I stayed here during both a busy conference season and a quieter winter month, and the experience was consistently solid. The 4-star rating feels accurate – it’s not trying to be the Ritz, but everything works properly and feels thoughtfully designed. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward (they actually answer their phone, which is rarer than it should be), and parking… well, you’re in Leipzig’s center, so street parking is what it is, but there are a couple of garages within walking distance if you’re driving. The apartments themselves have this modern-but-warm thing going on – good lighting, decent WiFi that actually handles video calls, and kitchens where you can cook real meals if you want to save money or just miss having control over your food. Honestly, after a week of conference catering, being able to make proper coffee in the morning felt like a small miracle.

  Very big apartment – well equipped in the kitchen, lovely balcony, perfect internal parking. Nicely kept and clean.
  
  What could be improved: Missing shower curtain, faucet needs to be fixed, missing curtains in the bedroom = light in early morning in summer = no sleep, check-in instructions wrong

  Die Beschreibungen und Youtube-Filme waren prima und haben die Orientierung sehr erleichtert. Die Lage der Wohnung ist sehr zentral und die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel sind nur wenige Minuten entfernt.
  
  What could be improved: Das Formular (Check-in-Formular), in dem man die Ankunftszeit noch einmal bekanntgeben sollte, war etwas irritierend. Hier habe ich lange nicht gewusst, wo ich welche Information eingeben sollte. Vielleicht wäre es ausreichend, wenn man die Ankunftszeit per Mail mitteilt, wenn die Angabe über Booking.com nicht ausreicht.

  Schöne große bequeme ruhige Wohnung, sehr gut gelegen, neben der runden Ecke (Stasi Museum) und 2 Minuten von Straßenbahnen entfernt.

  Salz, Pfeffer, Gewürze und Kaffee waren vorhanden.
  
  What could be improved: Es gab nur eine halbe Klopapierrolle für einen Aufenthalt von 5 Tagen!
  Es haben Schüsseln und Schalen gefehlt, wenn man einen Salat vorbereiten möchte oder eine Suppe.

  Spacious apartment, warm, cozy, well-equipped, some stuff in the kitchen like tea, coffee, spices and oil for cooking. Clean bedlinen and soft towels, no problems with water or heating. Nice balcony and cozy yard, beautiful old building. Exceptional location with easy access to public transport, supermarkets, cafes and everything around. Very close to the old town part. Free parking in the yard – just really big advantage.

  What could be improved: We had agreed on a late check(12:00) out with the owner. This was before we can cancel the apartement. Then one day before departure he changed our agreement without cause but I was there with 2 children and had planned the hole day!!! Very unprofessional.

  What could be improved: It was really cold especially in bedroom. Apparently the rooms were set to 20c but it didn't feel so. Maybe the radiators were but the room didn't feel warm inspite of multiple layers and fleeces. Bedroom radiators were never warm.
  
  Sent multiple messages to host the first morning. They came back next day offering to change but it needed someone to physically come and even that didn't go through as we missed a call who was them probably and they didn't respond on returning the call.
  
  Bathroom sink tap needs fixing.

  Secure garage for bikes, close to grocery stores, lots of room, comfy bed, very quiet, independent check-in.
  
  What could be improved: It needs just a bit of freshening up- curtains washed and scuff marks on the walls removed. It‘s a beautiful space otherwise.
