The kitchen area is functional enough that I actually cooked breakfast a couple times instead of hunting down overpriced hotel coffee. There’s something refreshing about having real plates and decent knives, you know? The Wi-Fi worked without drama, which honestly deserves a mention these days. I did notice some street noise in the mornings – Bernburger Straße gets a bit of commuter traffic – but nothing that kept me awake. Actually, I kind of liked hearing the city wake up.

What really won me over was how the place handles that tricky balance between being close to everything without being in the thick of it. When Leipzig has those massive trade fairs, you’re not stuck in the chaos of the city center hotels, but you’re also not stranded in some suburban nowhere. I walked to a couple of local spots – there’s this unpretentious café about three blocks down that locals actually frequent, and a decent spätkauf on the corner for those inevitable late-night snack runs. The 8.6 rating makes sense once you’ve been there; it’s not trying to be fancy, just genuinely useful and comfortable. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want, especially if you’re in Leipzig for work or planning to actually explore the city rather than just Instagram your hotel room.
