Apartments MUSIKVIERTEL Overview

You know what struck me first about Apartments MUSIKVIERTEL? The name actually makes sense once you’re there – you can practically feel the creative energy buzzing through this part of Leipzig’s Mitte district. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of where the city’s music scene comes alive, and these apartments sit right in the thick of it on Dufourstraße.

The building itself has that perfect Leipzig vibe – it’s got character without trying too hard, if that makes sense. When I walked in, I was honestly surprised by how spacious everything felt. These aren’t your typical cramped European apartment rentals where you’re bumping into furniture every five minutes. The interiors have this clean, modern aesthetic that somehow doesn’t feel sterile – probably because they’ve kept some of the original architectural details that give you that authentic German city living experience. The kitchens are actually functional too (I’m talking full-sized appliances, not those toy fridges you sometimes get), which is clutch if you want to grab some fresh bread from the local bakeries and make your own breakfast instead of hunting for overpriced hotel food.

Here’s the thing about the location – and this is something you’d only know if you’ve spent real time in Leipzig – you’re close enough to all the action but tucked away on a street that doesn’t get the late-night party crowd stumbling past your windows. I slept like a baby, honestly. During the day, you can walk to pretty much everything that matters: the old town squares, those incredible churches (St. Thomas is maybe a 10-minute stroll), and some seriously good restaurants that locals actually go to. There’s this Turkish place around the corner that I probably hit three times in four days. The tram connections are solid too – you’ll figure out the system pretty quickly, and suddenly the whole city opens up.

What really sealed it for me was the attention to small stuff that shows someone actually thought about what travelers need. Good water pressure in the shower, blackout curtains that work, Wi-Fi that doesn’t cut out every twenty minutes. The check-in process was smooth – none of that awkward waiting around in a lobby situation. Plus, and this might sound weird, but the whole place just felt… clean. Not hospital clean, but genuinely well-maintained in a way that made me feel comfortable dropping my bag and settling in.

Look, Leipzig isn’t Berlin or Munich – it doesn’t have that instant name recognition – but that’s kind of what makes it special. You get this incredible mix of history, culture, and nightlife without the tourist crowds, and staying at MUSIKVIERTEL puts you right where you want to be to experience it all. The 9.2 rating isn’t just numbers on a screen; you feel it in the details, from the moment you walk in until you’re reluctantly packing up to leave.

Reviews of Apartments MUSIKVIERTEL

  • Great stay in Leipzig. Top Air B & B – John from Ireland – 6 August 2025 (10/10)

The owner was very friendly and was very helpful. Left me stay a bit extra time as it was lashing rain outside. The flat is meticulous and has everything you need, including loads of space. Picture of cooked sausauges and black and white pudding.

What could be improved: Nothing. All very good

  • Excellent place to stay!!! – Omeragicalma from Bosnia and Herzegovina – 24 July 2024 (10/10)

The host waited for us in front of the building and explained everything we wanted to know. The apartment was beautiful, with high ceilings, clean, and very comfortable. We had coffee and tea if we wanted to make some. It is located very close to the train and maybe a 15-minute slow walk from the center of the town in a very nice and safe part of the city. There is also plenty of parking space. Leaving the key was easy, as well as communication with the owner who was responding to all our emails immediately, or within a few minutes. Great place, you will not regret it if you stay there. Fe felt good and taken care of. Hospitality – level pro!

  • Excellent location for easy access to city centre and contemporary interior in old building – Nick from United Kingdom – 27 June 2024 (9/10)

10 min walk to centre, good variety of restaurants nearby, apartment was quiet despite being on main road and on street parking was free and easy

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Perfect stay!! – Alice from Germany – 17 May 2024 (10/10)

It was extremely clean, very spacious and in a nice location. The owner very friendly and quick. Also there is a great concept for the mini bar… ☺️

  • Amazing! – Pantie from Czech Republic – 29 September 2023 (10/10)

Perfect location, comfy beds, very well equipped kitchen…we liked everything in the property, including the host who was available 24h in his words.

  • Exceptional – Adi from Romania – 23 August 2023 (10/10)

Very nice apartment close to the city centre.

  • Nice – Chen from Germany – 10 August 2023 (9/10)

Alt Bau, well equipped, very clean.

What could be improved: No living room. No washing machine. Tricky area kind of in the center of city but very isolated in the night….

  • Exceptional – Alexander from Sweden – 7 August 2023 (10/10)

Picture perfect in a late 19th century building.

  • Great for short stays – Ksenija from Lithuania – 8 May 2023 (9/10)

the host is amazing, he met us and told everything about the city, the parking and all the relevant information. the flat is nice, in the old building, close to the city, the parking outside is free of charge, lots of restaurants on the street next to it. the only thing you need to keep in mind one of the rooms are adjustment to the kitchen, so it's more like a 1 bedroom apartment and a living room with a bed and kitchen, so no place to hangout in the evening if you are up for it

What could be improved: it was a bit cold, but I figured out how to turn on the heating

  • Exceptional – Seidler from Germany – 24 March 2023 (10/10)

    Clean and quiet
